The luck ran out with jury duty. In 2023, lions got out of it by rescheduling for the day after a holiday. All 3 courthouses ended up getting that day off. 2025 was the kaboom case, 1 of the 3 courthouses still had cases on that day & no-one even remotely sane got out.
That method still reduces the chances of getting hit, but it's not perfect. Now old lion claimed to never get picked. He only lived in Calif* for 18 years though. Memory of parental jury duty only spanned 10 years. Over such a short time, he had a good chance of getting out by postponing to the day after a holiday. Another theory is he got out by never voting.
Lions have been called in for 25 years now. The 1st call was in the 2005's, just a phone in. 2010 was the 1st commute to the courthouse but no selection.
Either the algorithm has gotten smarter or there are a lot more cases than 20 years ago. There is definitely more likelihood of getting picked now.

Jury duty makes you nostalgic for anything. Now, it's the times lions allowed themselves to be happy during that brief late 90's period when they were lost. Spending big on that apartment was seen as a win, no matter what. It was pretty rough conditions for 4 years before that.
That was the 1st & last time lions had the radio on for background music, after a multi year hiatus, for some reason. They played the living daylights out of these songs. The gritty, acoustic late 90's sound is probably coming back.

Important stuff. No-one talks about an open source video generation workflow that runs at home, because they're only sponsored by the commercial offerings. The output is nowhere close to the commercial solutions, but it's getting there. Nothing is still anatomically correct enough, detailed enough, & original enough to get lions aroused. They're all very idealized, bland animals.
On the other paw, it's making the video editing software more important. In the beginning, there was absolutely nothing to feed the video editor. It just had short, noisy TV captures. That grew through the DVD era, the digital TV era, & the gootube era to where most of the video editing source now comes from gootube.
Now, the video editor is finally going to have an explosion of input content made from scratch. Despite the limitations of diluting natural language into moving pictures, it's going to be vastly easier to create useful video messages from prompts than breaking out a camera.
The big question lions have is if production is going to be easier with 2D painted images or the 3D models we've been using for 50 years. 2D painted images are already vastly more realistic than what 3D models did before 2010. The mane problem with 2D painted images is still nothing in them having any function.
Another thing lions noticed is AI music going from struggling to synthesize a very basic Mozart level symphony last year to now synthesizing very satisfying country music.
