F5TTS notes

1 is AI.  The other is 3D modeling 7 years ago.  The AI version still has minor flaws like text, water level, non functional items.   Video compression is bad enough to hide the crimes.

Some other limitations now are the monthly plans having severe limitations in length, resolution, & number of clips.

A year ago, this was priceless.  Now, it has no value.  Any cat pose can be created on demand by anyone.

Helas, most of us are still locked out of AI content creation because it's very expensive.

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pondered some material to feed AI speech.  Helas, elevenlabs has a 20,000 character/month limit on the free plan.  This little diddy has 2074 characters, which would be limited to only 9 revisions.  It takes a lot of revisions to discover how text & the sample voices really sound.  They don't allow downloads.

The other TTS web apps luvvoice.com, www.naturalreaders.com are not much better than festival.  Newer text to video models sent text to speech prices through the roof.  You're not going to be making free audiobooks with them anymore.

f5tts might be the most promising but the javascript is broken on the lion browser version.  There is a CLI.  Younger lion was a lot more motivated to bring up packages like this.  The mane motivation then was reading textbooks.  Nowadays, the output would be something no-one would ever watch on the tube & the model would be obsolete pretty fast.  Even a cinelerra tutorial would never be watched.  There might be an application in audiobooks.

Another problem is it can only imitate reference audio of a real animal.  You need the consent of the real animal to publish anything.  Lions don't have any female voices that would qualify, except maybe some gen Xers 25 years ago who long ago went off grid.

Lions started noticing AI voiceovers in docutube videos a year ago.  Suddenly, the synthetic voices normally found there were professional sounding & indistinguishable from animals.  There's just been an explosion in AI content so anything new is invisible.

Seems not long before the greatest musicians can be replicated with reference audio.  Lions expected the greatest pianos to be replicated by now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for another forgotten piece of gen X sauce

Gen X tube has always spat out back to the future, goonies, neverending story memorabilia & very little else because those are the movies which made money & more importantly, the only movies which make the gootube money.  There were a lot of other movies which no-one can make a video about because they were flops.  That's not a problem for this channel because it's permanently demonetized & no-one watches it anyway.

Back in the day, this was scribbled on signs in video stores all the time but young lions couldn't figure out what it said because they weren't able to read cursive yet & they couldn't decipher shakespear quotes.  Something Wicked This Way Comes was a shakespear quote.  In fact, lions still can't decipher shakespear quotes even though they can decipher most gootube videos at 2x.

Something Wicked This Way Comes was a flop & yet it always brought back intrigue for lions.

The intrigue was really the idyllic early 20th century midwest town, the villain, a lot of novel visuals like the villain throwing papers in the street, a lightning rod salesman.

The carnival was analogous to the alameda county fair in lion minds.  Every summer, it came & went like the movie.  The date was never given, but we see incandescent lightbulbs, early cars, early telephones, no radio or TV.  All they had was each other for entertainment.

The music was by the 1 & only 28 year old James Horner.  Horner died in 2015 in a plane crash.

Mr. Dark became the life long image of a villain to some of us.  A guy with a short beard & a mane, basically.  He gave manes a bad name.

The barber's longing for women made a lot of us at that age fear being alone later on.  It was a bigger deal in the 80's, but not so much now.

The IMDB shows it being set in a fictional Green Town, Illinois.

The only pirate copy ever released was in 720 by 400 potato quality.

The goog shows some efforts to remake it into another movie set in the 80's, but more likely we're just going to get more superman reboots.
