Dreamed about getting chased by Elon around the apartment. He was complaining about not being in the office. He sent a written letter labeled "snowflake" saying "number of times logged in: NONE". The problem was I didn't work for SpaceX. He didn't notice though. Despite failing to get in years ago, being too old, & being inept at job interview coding challenges, he decided I worked for SpaceX anyway, like 1 of his reality distortion fields.    Then was walking into a brand new office building. The traditions of looking busy & calculating every word in office building jobs slowly started coming back. Was pondering if they really had enough time for all the show & tell, design review ceremonies or if they sensibly were focused.   ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------    It's a lot higher in Calif*, but lions will never achieve either the average or the Cali...

Dumbest lines ever said: "we will not allow a one-time increase in the price level to become an ongoing inflation problem"  Lions interpreted that to mean they would allow one time inflation events & prevent them from becoming ongoing by whipsawing the interest rate, just in time.  The low interest rate inflation events would allow the government to refinance its debt while the interest rate hikes would temper inflation expectations.  It's a departure from the zero tolerance of the Volcker years. The fed did take a bigger bite out of the balance sheet, showing they could be moving to bigger drawdowns in exchange for the coming rate cuts.  The media did its best to inject doubt into the next rate cut, but there was never any question, based on average inflation falling short of historic 3.5. " appear to remain well anchored and consistent with our longer-run inflation objective of 2 percent." At this point in the history of 3x-4x debt to GDP ratios,  m...

Another 8m12s mile in 100F.  So slow otherwise, it's tempting to crush walnuts 1 day early but slower. Sciatica evolved over the last 9 months to the point of the left leg going numb from lying in bed.  It has responded to eccentric strides & not sitting down.  It might respond to a slower stride rate.  There was a step up in sitting last year to try to boost the posterior tibialis. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Slowly working through the mission impossible reckoning series, the money shot was of course Heroine saving Tom Cruise.  The heroine was 1 of the dumber characters in movie history, but she finally came unto her own after the transformation into Cruise 2.   Sadly, her train sequence was useless since there was no way to stop the locomotive. Aside from heroines saving Tom Cruise, the collapsing train scene & the car chase scene were...

https://www.acgov.org/board/bos_calendar/documents/DocsAgendaRegSunol_03_19_25/GENERAL%20ADMINISTRATION/Regular%20Calendar/Item%203f_Stroll_and_Roll.pdf   There it is, the end of the magic.  1st, no more car free mane street & then no more car free Niles Canyon.  They have the usual jab at Trump, but lions suspect the growing number of east bay car companies & their growing influence on the economy has led to nixing of the pedestrian budgets.  Lucid, Pebble motor homes, & Mr. E are all right there. Looks like that leash timelapse from behind is never going to happen.  Citynerd probably gets more views in a single video than everyone who ever heard of the stroll roll.  Leash timelapses from behind seem to get less attention than timelapses from in front, which makes the 2019 vijeo the only one worth making.  Not sure why this is.  Sports broadcasts show the runners from in front. Lions don't see it happening again.  Part of t...

The lion kingdom got dinged yet again.  It seems they now require quarterly withholding from 1099 interest payments, regardless of whether you stayed below the safe harbor. The debate began on whether to withhold, keep paying penalties, or switch to 1 year T bills.  The amount withheld is always a guess & the lost compounding could be far greater than necessary.  Withholding double the necessary amount would be worse than the penalties. The penalty might be less than surrendering that amount during last year's bull market. With interest rates soon to drop back below 2% & itemized deductions returning, it might not matter.  There's always a high likelihood of extended unemployment. It's truly dystopian for the government to borrow twice its GDP, then start requiring quarterly tax payments on the interest for the national debt after 25 years of it not mattering, then charge a penalty for not paying the new quarterly taxes. Suspect the very wealthy pay pen...

In the department of what to do with a VCR, there was the idea of RF modulating golf & displaying it on a vintage portable TV while drawing in 640x400 monochrome PC paint, like a cloudy weekend in 1988. https://reverb.com/item/71913459-vintage-1981-panasonic-tr-5041p-5-b-w-portable-television-with-vhf-uhf-am-fm-radio     The TR-5041P was the one we had, with soft touch controls, a fascinating D cell battery caddy & linear converter for converting 12V to 9V.  Recall it burning 6 D cells, dear god.  That was the beginning of massive D cell packs in high power applications like boom boxes & toys.  80's gadgets were getting ahead of the practical limits of batteries of the time. They're all probably dead by now, from that center negative plug. https://www.ebay.com/itm/365210588116 This one was actually run on D cells, based on the corrosion. Robotix 2000 was another one that ran on 4 D cells.  If you want a robotix 2000 now, just make one out...
