Originally programmed a vertical timeline because video was heading towards wide aspect ratios. The vertical timeline could fit more frames in. It would have been unique if it was the only implementation today. It was a lot of work & monitors ended up getting wide. No codecs in common use can seek accurately, so the picons aren't much use anymore. The audio & all the other stuff is still easier to read horizontally. Human eyes make pixels appear to be bigger vertically than horizontally, so the number of pixels in the vertical direction would always be less. Didn't know wonder woman was created by a guy who was into female dominance or that it was investigated by the senate. Thought he was an entertainer trying to find a niche, like Rob Tapert or P.T. Barnum. Knew he had 2 wives, but that's normally because of male dominance. The real wonder woman was 1 of his wives. The author said he depicted her being tied up because it aroused readers to see fem
