Brachioradial Pruritus
After years of progressively worsening chronic itching, the internet said the lion kingdom has either nerve damage from UV or nerve impingement, Brachioradial Pruritus or Notalgia Paresthetica. More likely BP. It seems to prefer the left shoulder. Itching began in 2015 & progressively worsened for 11 years. It was originally blamed on mane conditioner, pet hair, lice, dust, insect excrement, spider bites, ACNE. It was 1 of the things you never notice. It had been below the left shoulder blade since 2016, but finally passed a point of becoming an unending, debilitating stinging on the entire shoulder after July 2026. Lions would be truly awful to live with, now. It escalated during a period of higher than normal sun exposure.
