With a difficult 11 miler around the valley, the lion kingdom finished 2021 with exactly the same mileage it did in 2020: 2321 miles. It definitely wasn't planned, but if your goal is 40 miles/week & running for food, the logistical needs of the lion kingdom may create a higher chance of hitting the same mileage. The last destination was the former dollar store, now Biden buck store. So basically, the booster shot reduces but doesn't eliminate the chance of getting a bad cold.  Case rates seemed to spike & already die off before the lion kingdom's booster shot.  Omi probably infected most everyone at once, with herd immunity quickly wiping it out.  Another reason is most of the community being stuck in Tahoe last week.  Relatively speaking, running 26 miles has caused more pain for lions than bad colds. At least the lion kingdom didn't have to drive to a single shot.  The health complications from sitting in a car aren't worth the immunity. If you woke up

Best halloween decoration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW29067qVWk Jupyter is the weirdest IDE lions ever saw. It apparently peaked 5 years ago during the big data boom, before AI became the big thing. It seemed to be an expansion of a job interview programming interface into a full browser based operating system. Commands were entered in the browser & below the commands appeared the output. Instead of shell commands, it took python. It's the kind of goofy program that lions used to dig up on freshmeat.net all the time. Before lions undertook any significant programming projects, they just sought out odd & goofy UNIX programs with no goal in mind. Some guy would have a strange idea about a better image editor, a better text editor, a better operating system. That phase might have been the most productive phase of lion history.
Lions don't consider oil a good long term investment.  It was a good short term investment when it suddenly lost 99% of its baseline level but not 99% of the time.  In fact, it was arguably better to just focus a taxable account on index funds instead of any individual commodity, since the capital gains tax was going to wipe it out.  Of course, if you're just happy to get any profit rather than be an investing superstar, you'll buy anything.  Lions are happy to have any job & happy to get anything that just involves showing up. With the santa clause rally at full speed, the lion kingdom is planning on dumping a certain commodity & paying 15% federal + 9.3% state capital gains tax.  The mane question is how much at what speed.  A lot of animals just want to brag about never losing, rather than maximizing profits.  These animals slowly dump just the lowest returning positions while keeping their highest returning positions until the highest returning positions eventua

Matrix for real

During filming along the commute, the lion kingdom noticed they spent an awful long time just at Joe the Juice & 44 Montgomery, so the entire movie must have been centered around just those 2 locations & some extremely reduced plot.  Joe the Juice must have been a central meeting place in the movie or the portal they used to go in the matrix.  The jump from 44 Montgomery must have been the climax where in the 1st movie, the jump was the beginning.  That would have been it.   The lion kingdom made it through 1 hour before taking a matrix vacation.  In a world of millennials trying to outdo each other with their newfound freedom to create the most extravagant home office possible, the lion kingdom was impressed by this desk.   The lion kingdom could afford some of those monitors if they were 2k.  The mane problem is being able to see anything without eye lenses.  Maybe it would be an excuse to wear prescription matrix sunglasses. Blue mane tuft hottie was a high point, but of cou

The mane symptoms of 1 week of not running from being rained in are headaches, anxiety, lack of appetite, & soreness.  Lions probably get headaches from over sleeping.  Anxiety without exercise is self explanatory.  The soreness is a bit strange.  It might be from less circulation in the butt.  Burning less calories causes loss of appetite, at least in single men. Tiny trace of snow on the south side. https://www.nasa.gov/mediacast/jpl/driven-to-mars-s4e1 This interview was another installment of the grass not being greener on the other side.  Pretty tough story about choosing a life of full time care giving instead of abortion.  If god says abortion is evil, what happens to animals who never fertilize an egg in the 1st place? Then there's the typical story about woman thinking finding Mr. Perfect was an act of god.  What are the chances the guy just saw her on the news, got turned on, & set out to get an office tour from her during which he would deliver the pickup lines.

Funny that the cost is divided by the development time rather than the operational time to make it lower. They not only made 25 years a normal time to build something, but if it took 1000 years, it would have been free. It has enough fuel for 10 years of observations, then it's thrown away. Combine that with the least likeable Vox host interviewing & the lion kingdom just can't drink the koolaid. In hindsight, the large hadron collider was another boondoggle. It was built to discover the higgs boson & then it was done. There are some programs to keep using it either for lesser known basic research or to keep people employed. It's been the century of the expendable science experiment. Could a space telescope big enough to utilize the size of a starship ever be built? Probably not. A small space telescope would be cheaper to launch on it, but a starship isn't going to make bigger space telescopes affordable. Something must be done about large telescopes

The arianne 5 humbly launched JWST after 25 years, originally estimated at $1/2 billion in 1997 money, eventually $10 billion in today's money. Probably the last budget buster to be launched on a fully expendable rocket. None of the rocket cam views we're used to on commercial rockets. Just an intermittent mid 90's style peek at deployment. The big question is whether JWST will work. There's a status page https://jwst.nasa.gov/content/webbLaunch/whereIsWebb.html https://www.statesman.com/story/business/2021/12/22/where-does-elon-musk-live-austin-house-or-boca-chica/8997085002/ Lots of tweets about how he lives in a mansion after claiming to sell all his mansions.  Obviously, anyone can say they're selling all their stonk & houses, then buy all their stonk & houses back.  In this case, as someone very important & influential, people are willing to donate to him.  Whoever donated the mansion gets to say he housed the man who made life multiplanetary

"TSA checkpoints are processing more than twice as many travelers as the comparable period in 2020, and closing in on 2019’s numbers." Airline stonks are down 33% on media headlines while travel has manely recovered.  It seems to be the prisoners & the prison guards assuming their roles, rather than individual thought.  Together with the modern trend of voting for higher taxes, then moving elsewhere to avoid the higher taxes, millennials are living up to their reputation of being self imposed slaves. The last candycane was consumed. They were all sold out by Thursday.

The pianist was a hard movie to watch, over 3 days.  The lion kingdom isn't sure if it's more or less depressing than Schindler's List.  Many scenes in the movie were staged exactly like photos in kiwipedia.  WWII movies are generally easy to make, since there's an abundance of real, dire material. The period from 1990-2010 saw a shift from the rhetorical speeches of John Wayne, George C Scott, Charlton Heston to intimate views of desperate suffering & hunger.  Lions aren't sure whether movies lightened back up for millennials or if they stopped being made to keep millennials happy. It's not possible to know what's going on without realizing it's a true story & having prior knowledge of the fall of Warsaw, the ghetto, the uprising, the planned destruction, & the Warsaw robinsons.  Thus, it requires already knowing the ending. The lion kingdom was surprised he was outed by an attainable woman while the trophy wife helped him survive.  Most of

The home equity of generation X is the venture capital fund of the next cycle. It's a common story, a generation Xer just closed on a home or has watched his equity explode over the last 20 years & has turned around to invest some equity in a startup. Compared to the upside potential, the interest rate is nothing. The lion kingdom's next day job may be funded by the home equity of a classmate. Lion parents lived in a different world where spending home equity was phrased in terms of "using your home a collateral". Borrowing any amount against their home equity was a last resort & certain doom. They told horror stories of families using home equity to buy a piano or pay for college. The prospect of losing a house was the ultimate fear, but no-one ever really lost their house. Someone living 40 years ago would say the modern trend of investing home equity in startups is really the top 1% using the homes of the bottom 99% as collateral. Wealth distribut
The lion kingdom's 3 year anniversary is next February.  That's a long time in startup years, so the current gig is probably within 1 year of ending.   Being a lion programmer is a hard life.  Winters are cold & unheated. Summers are hot & un air conditioned.   Intermittent employment means programmers make around 1/2 of their reported salaries in the long term & that's below poverty level.  Long term stability is arguably better than intermittent income because lions pay the full tax rate despite only making half in the long term.  Someone constantly employed can make 1/2 & come out ahead.  The lion kingdom could definitely have made 1/2 & come out ahead through uninterrupted employment. Aside from the tax advantages of being able to declare losses & liquidate assets, the lion kingdom never understood why the industry is divided into many startups all working for the same investors instead of everyone working directly for the investors in 1 company

23 miles with the mane & rudolf. The old neighborhood didn't have nearly as many decorations as long ago. The lion kingdom may be desensitized by the massive displays elsewhere or it may be all rental properties now.
