Matrix for real

During filming along the commute, the lion kingdom noticed they spent an awful long time just at Joe the Juice & 44 Montgomery, so the entire movie must have been centered around just those 2 locations & some extremely reduced plot.  Joe the Juice must have been a central meeting place in the movie or the portal they used to go in the matrix.  The jump from 44 Montgomery must have been the climax where in the 1st movie, the jump was the beginning.  That would have been it.

The lion kingdom made it through 1 hour before taking a matrix vacation.

In a world of millennials trying to outdo each other with their newfound freedom to create the most extravagant home office possible, the lion kingdom was impressed by this desk.

The lion kingdom could afford some of those monitors if they were 2k.  The mane problem is being able to see anything without eye lenses.  Maybe it would be an excuse to wear prescription matrix sunglasses.

Blue mane tuft hottie was a high point, but of course she was only in the movie to bring in Chinese audiences.  A popular cinematic device is using colors to differentiate characters, so blue mane tuft's color was blue.

The lion commute was shown in brief flashes, with all signed extras & extremely clean streets.

Then we finally saw the interior of Joe the Juice, reimagined.  The exterior must have been rotoscoped or they must have closed down Montgomery St.

A few brief glimpses of Market St.

Safe to say these exteriors were all real, since they spent a long time shooting in the high rises.  The lion kingdom thought they were just shooting an action scene in a lobby, but they were in the top floors.

A mane theme was Keenu having flashbacks to a past life.  For the lion kingdom, they were flashbacks to every point on the lion commute.  That zoetrope building at 6pm every day was the coldest place in the world.

The lion kingdom thought this was some kind of extreme over the top barista, created by the matrix from elements of every barista who ever lived.

There was the side window with all the lights outside it.

Another view of a place on Montgomery St. where lions would run as fast as possible to catch as many lights as possible.

Keanu jumping over Market St.

Blue mane tuft saving Keanu.

The scariest scene for a lion.

Speaking of movies.

There is another $600 adapter which shrinks an EF lens down to a cropped sensor size while brightening it by 1 stop. This allows an EOS RP to capture most of the field of view in its 4k mode.  The 4k mode uses 0.58 of the sensor.  The internet is vague on the adapter's magnification.  It specifically shrinks the image to fit an EOS C70 sensor which is 0.72 of the EOS RP's sensor.  So $600 gets more but not all of the field of view.

Helas, there are cheaper ways of getting 4k video.  The lion kingdom still has some 4k phones with wide angle lenses & some stabilization.  The cost of the optics required to get 4k quality video must be too high for anyone to make an adapter specifically for full frame 4k on an EOS RP.  It's an obvious hit, but no-one makes it.

There's also the $480 metabones EF to RF which does a .72 reduction but not a .58 reduction.

They're called speed boosters.  Metabones made a .58x speed booster for black magic cameras only.

The whole affair of overclocking an EOS RP to get full frame 4k reminds lions of the times they dreamed of getting 2k out of still cameras or 480p out of 480i.  There's never a terminal resolution.

There are affordable, bare lenses for science experiments & home made telescopes.  The lion kingdom once dreamed of 3D printing an adapter for 4k on an EOS RP.  There aren't many practical needs for a bare lens.
