Lion ponderings

    Who knew SC had higher income tax below $40k than Calif* & SC has higher sales tax than Calif* did 30 years ago.  Lions are dropping to 8% before they leave Calif*.  They already dropped into lower social security tax brackets.  A lion would be better off renting in Palm Springs than a great many other states.  Also, if there were no parents, the entire country was on the table & finances weren't as tight, lions still ponder if they would move to FL.  Influencers seem happy in the rainy northwest, but lions aren't convinced it's real.  Dave Plummer is an indoor guy with 12000 sq ft.  Ray Delahanty travels more often than he's in Portland.  Happy on Monday &  Ms Gen Xodus are definitely indoor women.  Lions were indoor animals 40 years ago.  Being back at 2g of vitamin C every morning, as well as slowing down the cadence made a slight improvement.  It became possible to run every day at 11min/mile & slower without cumulative tendinitis.  It wasn't a slam dunk.  9 minute miles & 180 steps/minute seem to be permanently out of reach.  The pungent smell of soy beans returned.  Spring valley tablets are made in China, probably from soy beans.  Fortunately, the summer heat makes higher speeds impractical regardless of age.   The philosophy was to try to get supercompensation from speed work, but after 6 months of various speeds & number of intervals, every combination only reduced speeds in the long term.  Lions may have run their last 6 minute pace.  There definitely needs to be an extended time before the next race in which no intervals will be run.  The lion kingdom embarked on a study of kayaking around KSC.  The off limits bodies of water seem rather poorly documented.  Goog hit an old fashioned personal website with limited maps & random text descriptions.  https://www.kayakingksc.com/ that guy is a badged KSC employee which allows him more access.  For the rest of us, the Banana river north of the NASA causeway is off limits.  It has motion sensors which go off if anyone goes under that bridge.  https://www.kayakingksc.com/No-Motor-Zone.html     Motorized boats are not allowed on the Banana river north of the 528.  The shores north of the 528 seem to be off limits.  KARS park has a $5 fee.  An extended area of water on the east side is marked off limits with buoys. Banana river is closed north of the 528 during rocket launches.  That covers the Banana river.   The Banana river would be a good place to see starship barges, but not the contents. -----...

No-one even uses garages anymore.  The price difference is so small, the owner would have to be extremely stretched to not go higher.  6 small windows in total, with 1 small window in the bedroom.  The apartment of the last 25 years & most other apartments have more exposure.  That's $265k nowadays or $185/sq ft.  Lions could probably get used to it.  They're sacrificing exterior for square footage & the interior is a pleasant cocoon.    The next higher one is the $252k & has 2 front windows.  That would be less depressing.  Proximity to water causes the depressing one to cost more.  ...

Villages is the only one with running paths suitable for speed work & is the least dramatic transition from the status quo.  Largo is manely nostalgic, but has a beach & the most walkable destinations.  Titusville has no beach but it does have a waterfront.  Lions lived near a beach for 9 months but only went to it once. Lions would only buy a house in Titusville.  Largo is too expensive & impacted by hurricanes.  The Villages has a lot of downward pressure on home equity.  The big question with Titusville is the noise from daily starship launches.  It's 12-13 miles from the launchpad while the noisy South Padre videos are 5-6 miles from the launchpad.  It probably would be equivalent to an airport. ...

The 3 mane destinations: Brownwood Paddock Square   Lake Sumter Landing Spanish Springs    It's 8 miles from end to end.      It was all farmland when lions left.    The box is 5x7 miles.  Targ & wally are not in the 3 mane destinations but still inside the box.  The cheapest rentals all seem to be outside the box.  Most of the rentals are houses now. The smallest apartments there are currently in the $1200's.  With all the fees, they're going to be $1500.  This compares to the coast which is going to be over $2000 with fees.  Largo is the most walkable.   Titus...

    Walnuts crushed.  11 minute pace with a very slow cadence has been manageable on a daily basis for the tendon.  11 minutes was what lions manely managed before 2016.  5.5 hours would be the tail end of what would finish an organized marathon, but an organized marathon wouldn't be concerned with preserving the tendon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------       Just like that, the 2 hour marathon was broken in an official race.  It's all about carbon plated shoes.  Kind of like Barkley, no-one winning & suddenly 2 winning in a year.  Interestingly, the super shoes weigh as much as racing flats 15 years ago, 3oz.  It makes lions wonder if a CF plate should be sandwiched in sandals.  Another amusing dream which began in an urban highrise apartment with wraparound windows.  The bathroom had wraparound windows & lions assumed there was an LCD curtain function.  From there, the lion kingdom decided to venture into the underground complex of Resident Evil.  The underground complex was now full of H1B zombies.  They weren't attacking but it seemed only a matter of time before they did.  They were filing things.    The complex descended down & down.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lions have recurring dreams about urban highrise apartments, but probably don't care where they live.  They spent the 1st 40 years in suburban locations & now are in the most urban location of all of them.  It was converted into a city center in the last 5 years.  Every place before 2020 would have been considered suburban.   ...
