Surprised to find no recent videos on how to align an equatorial mount or anyone using modern methods. They still recommend manually aligning polaris & they still use rough latitude instead of GPS. Polaris was never accurate enough for lions. They had to point the camera directly east, taking test photos to align the altitude. Then point the camera directly overhead, taking test photos to align the azimuth. The test photos were made by slewing the right ascension ahead of  the stars & letting the stars catch up. Alignment was achieved when the star trails weren't shaped like a V. It took 90 minutes to tweek out the alignment. The process is formally called "declination drift" & it's still the way they're getting the best alignment. With modern cameras, you can overlay a virtual north pole on the location of the stars in the viewfinder. This can be used to align the mount. A modern phone should be able to align a mount purely by GPS &
The spectacle of perfect petite executive assistants & obese boyfriends was strong today. Their boyfriends keep getting fatter & paler, the longer the economic boom continues. It reminded the lion kingdom of how liberal politics really work, as most things do. Calif* is a transient population. Democrats & republicans all come here during the booms to become the 1% & that's all. During the busts, they all leave. Calif* is like a stack of yard tools at Sears. No-one really cares about the politicians or the issues because once they become the Trumps, they're out of here. They elect idiocracy because they're told to & don't care. They all pledge vapid support for democrats, but they're more old fashioned than the conservative states. A woman who comes here just to become the 1% really is just interested in the type of guy who's going to make them the 1%, rather than it being a mere preference in Wisconsin. Not that any of the world was rad

Feed the mane like a Roman
The modern mile is based on the 2000 year old Roman mile which was 1000 steps of each paw. The modern mile is 8% longer than the Roman mile, but we are very much tied to ancient Romans in units of measurement as well as everything else. By analyzing video, lions take 1250 steps during their fastest mile. Each paw takes 625 steps in the modern mile or 574 steps in the Roman mile. Running stride length is considered twice as long as walking stride length, so a huge extrapola tion could directly link lion running videos to ancient Rome. It would be worth analyzing video of lions walking to more directly compare them to the Roman mile. Having a measurement system not based on powers of 10 is brutal, but all measurement systems start with a guy basing a length on some natural phenomenon. Basing length on the size of a gram of water is about as arbitrary as basing length on the size of a human paw. The metric system is just as likely to be replaced by a new system based on

A little pressed garlic turns a Totino into a Freshchetta. Been managing to press the garlic without peeling most of it, by soaking the garlic.

Garlic fries like Door Dash used to deliver. Just squeeze & shake. Most of the solid garlic stayed in the bag, but the result was still a very powerful garlic flavor. Very important to clean the garlic press or you'll be in the bathroom all night.

A tale of 2 Sissels. Quite a decline in 15 years & 2 marriages. She told a lot of skinny, poor musicians to get lost before finally picking the man of her dreams, a tax lawyer named Studly McLawyerly.  Nothing's worse than a case of the musicians.

If only lions knew about garlic presses a year ago, when they could cook instead of commute. The $5 Walmart press is too small to crush the largest clovers & requires peeling all but the last layer of cellulose off. The more peeling & soaking the better. The pulp squirts through the holes, so it has to be aimed. The last layer of cellulose stays in the presser & can be scraped out with a fork. It's not as efficient as chopping it by paw, but much faster. The amount of garlic you can feed a mane is so much higher, it's a new level of flavor intensity. Lions may never go back to powder again.
