So after some more research, the Comca$t situation this year is an upgrade to Docsis 3.1 & a phasing out of the lion kingdom's $50 modem. The new modem is $90 & won't arrive for 5 more days. The lion kingdom's 1st dialup modem was $90, so we've come full circle.

 This year's Comca$t annual manetenance window began on July 29 & didn't show on the outage map.  Previously, they handed out warnings about the planned shutdown in July.  Then they started shutting down for 2 months/year without warning.  They charge a $300 fee for any troubleshooting so the lion kingdom would wait a week before calling in.

 Testing hardware rendering yielded some bugs since at least the addition of checker board backgrounds 3 years ago. This one affected alpha channel playback with a single track.  It dropped the checker board background & composited every new frame on the previous output. Rendering with alpha channels yielded the checkerboard scaled down to the size of the preview window because the GUI has its video mode set to on & it uses the GUI for its opengl context. Its dependency on the GUI for an opengl context caused the rendered output to stop converting YUV to RGB when the user started playback while rendering.  The GUI may need another flag for rendering mode or it may need a dummy GUI for the opengl context. Alpha channels were just never used with a single track.  Fade with a single track was always done without alpha channels.  It could cause problems if there are 2 tracks but 1 track has no media. Shampooing the carpet put a lot of water in the air, so the humidifier was off. Never knew how long the carpet shampoo affected the air. Trophy wife Rossguy's subway grate vijeo got 12 million views which he claims paid $12,000 before taxes.  Suspect it got mentioned by a celebrity, but it could have been just the vagaries of the recommendation engine.  He said he makes $50-$120/day on average or $50,000/year on gootube.  He used $50,000 of his gootube revenue to pay off his back rent.  The gootube dream has basically become hitting the jackpot with 1 viral video. The lion kingdom had 1 vijeo hit 1 million views, but it wasn't monetizable.  Rossguy was a kind of motivation to start a new monetizable channel & start throwing in monetizable lottery ticket vijeos for a chance to win.  Kane Pixels hit

  The desk lowers to TV watching position. Finally adjusted the monitor.  It would need m6 45mm bolts to go through new holes.  The longest in US are 40mm.  The easiest solution was clamping it inside an existing hole.

  A full day of rewiring & killing hundreds of spiders yielded the standing desk. The last 2 folding tables from 20 years ago look real shabby. There's a real desire to replace them with another standing desk, but it's 2 full days of work. The standing desk is super heavy while anything else is much easier to move. The window desk really needed 4 bolts since a lot of force has to go through the legs to move it. It also needed 3 sliders on the sides since that's where the legs go. The sliders all sunk into the carpet. It would be a lot more practical if the audio amplifier, headphone amplifier, USB hub were bolted or clamped under the desk.  The monitor stand has to stretch all the way for lions to see it.  It has farsteners for drilling 4 holes instead of going behind the desk.  It's just a 1 way trip.  It's a hair too big to fit through an existing grommet hole. The lion kingdom was surprised how high the TWTR bounce got on that stupid lawsuit.  It surpassed the 37 support level which it held for most of its life.  It might bounce back to 50.  There was absolutely no reason for the lawsuit to matter, but the media hyped it & there wasn't any other news headline.  It's the epitome of gambling.  That stonk had no long term value.  Its only reason for existing was Elon's buyout offer.  Maybe twitter could become an essential communication medium, but at $25 or $55?  Individual stonks only work for lions when they're heavily beaten down & have clear future value.
