A full day of rewiring & killing hundreds of spiders yielded the standing desk. The last 2 folding tables from 20 years ago look real shabby. There's a real desire to replace them with another standing desk, but it's 2 full days of work. The standing desk is super heavy while anything else is much easier to move.

The window desk really needed 4 bolts since a lot of force has to go through the legs to move it. It also needed 3 sliders on the sides since that's where the legs go. The sliders all sunk into the carpet.

It would be a lot more practical if the audio amplifier, headphone amplifier, USB hub were bolted or clamped under the desk.  The monitor stand has to stretch all the way for lions to see it.  It has farsteners for drilling 4 holes instead of going behind the desk.  It's just a 1 way trip.  It's a hair too big to fit through an existing grommet hole.

The desk goes no closer than 1" from the wall.  The legs protrude 1".  That's as close as it can go with the monitor stand.

The desk is not solid wood but particle board.  A foam core would be a lot more practical & lighter.  The reinforcing bar didn't leave enough room for the stability ball.  It might have to be taken out since the floor area is desperately needed.

The 12" floor fan of 20 years was replaced by a cheap 12" Walmart fan which moves much less air.  The upside is it blows much less than the floor fan for winter.  It's a case where a hobby motor fan is highly desired.  Hobby motors don't last long & they have to be enclosed.  It has to do a lot of maneuvering as the desk is raised & lowered.

The options are to build a replacement motor to mount on the existing fan base, creating a tripod mounted motor, or creating a new base.

It's not all disaster.  Compare to what other animals have to improvise to get standing desks.
