It's so smooth.

Getting banned from the book of face & rebuilding the empire revealed some nuggets about the internet.  Hardly any of the friends on the old account accepted new requests.  Half of them no longer allowed any friend requests & took themselves off the search feature.  It proves a theory that most of them don't keep track of who's on their list.  They change phases, have families, become wealthy, take their book accounts more seriously than they did 10 years ago.   Most lion classmates became multi millionaires in the last 10 years.  There's a big correlation between financial success & not wanting any attention.  When they're poor college students, they want all the attention they can get.  After they become multi millionaires, they don't want to be social media stars. So the 1st non folding table was finally installed.  It's ugly but effective.  If the lion kingdom ever was forced to commute to a startup with furniture this cheap, it would think about

Lions are guilty of seeing the Bengazi scandal as over hyped, back in 2016.  Now that the democratic party has re-enacted the Bengazi scandal on a larger scale, the mentality which led to instability in the 2008-2016 years seems to be an underappreciated constant.  The world was peaceful from 2016-2020.  In only 6 months, it's back to the instability. There's surprisingly little institutional knowledge these days of a stonk market that doesn't rise 10% every year. Boomer investments don't yield 10% per year. They lose 50% some years, lose 10% some years, then earn 10% on the remaneing principal for 10 more years. The return is also taxed as regular income in Calif*, so it's 5% in the best years. Millennials have never experienced a long term bear market like generation X after 2000.
So after listening to snob classmates bragging about their Fl*rida rental properties, snob coworkers bragging about visiting their parents in Fl*rida, the lion kingdom can be forgiven for forgetting that it's owned land in Fl*rida for 15 years.  It's been such an expensive & unproductive experience compared to the impression the snobs conveyed, it's like the envy of the classmates with the expensive houses never was. The lion kingdom noted that most people are moving back to the cities to find jobs, rather than permanently raising prices in the middle of nowhere.  Since large corporations ended up cutting salaries for remote workers, they would rather make more & pay more in rent than make less & own a home, even if there is no point in living near an office.  The effect is middle of nowhere real estate isn't catching up to Calif*. Despite already owning the land, the cost of building a house on it depends on how many people migrate out of the cities.  So m

Fred Rogers is back The lion kingdom has narrowed down a plan for selling shares to declare a capital loss, then buying the shares again with the expectation that they'll go up in the future.  It's like getting a tax credit for making money.  The capital loss trade could intensify selloffs.  It's a way of moving shares from a taxable to a tax sheltered account. So far, the lion kingdom still doesn't have any stonks under their basis value, but some are taking a beating over virus & inflation fears, even as the indexes keep rising.  Lions don't expect any tightening to happen, so these stonks should at least break even in the long term.

The lion kingdom started thinking about how much it costs to house all the refugees from every country getting overthrown by terrorist dictators.  Half of Calif* is homeless.  Trillions of doll hairs are printed to pay for housing the bottom 99%.  Only the top 1% benefits through exploding real estate valuations. The alternative is printing trillions of doll hairs to combat the terrorist dictators in their homelands for all eternity, so the refugees don't have to leave.  The top 1% benefits through exploding military spending instead of real estate valuations.  There's more housing available to the homeless. Either case has an exploding cost, but a 3rd idea came to mind.  What about just defeating the terrorist dictators so the refugees can stay in their own country & trillions of doll hairs don't have to be printed to house them or continue fighting forever?  The 3rd idea would truly be a breakthrough. Living on Earth is a strange game where the only way to play is to

Tesla AI day

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0z4FweCy4M Guess the big thing was the Tesla humanoid robot "coming soon". Honda did that 21 years ago. That might have been Honda's peak, along with the 2000 Civic. It's not obvious why car companies all embark on the same path when they reach their peak. In the unlikely event it never really does any more useful work than the Honda Asimo, if it looks anything like a female version of the humanoid shown, it would be the ultimate entertainment robot for a certain kind of entertainment. The Amerikan people would then get to debate the legality of buying a certain kind of entertainment from a robot. Otherwise, they're obviously only hiring people who have spent years & years narrowly focused on just neural networks. Interesting parallel between Cray 20 years ago & Tesla's Dojo division today. The difference is the Cray was a general purpose confuser while the Tesla is specifically a neural network. They both embark

Return to house on haunted hill was a horrible movie.  The lion kingdom might have accidentally watched it a 2nd time while only vaguely remembering some scenes from the 1st viewing because it was so bad.  They were only 8 years apart, made by the same generation, yet the sequal played more like a millennial movie. The same actor Jeffrey Combs  played the doctor in both, but got a lot more screen time in the 2nd.  The lack of screen time in the 1st made him a lot scarier. The doctor has some amusing interactions with the other ghosts. The mane attraction in the sequel was the world class, flaming hot, tall, dominant, blood covered 24 year old Amanda Righetti. The trick with horror movies is they're the only time women have dominant, man saving, heroine roles. Spaghetti heroine got married at the age of 23 & not surprisingly got divorced at age 34.  She had only 2 more lead roles in Friday the 13th (2009) &  Love at the Shore  (2017). Kiwipedia has proven a better resource
Figured he needed money to cut military spending to fund the next $3.5 trillion stimulus package, so it was surprising how many voters bought the line about taking a loss to avoid passing on the conflict to the next president.  Lions always lose their jobs so the next guy doesn't inherit the suffering.  How long did it take the savior to figure out that line? In other news, the lion kingdom predicts Newsom getting replaced by 1 of the democratic contenders, since the republican field is too diluted for any single candidate to get enough votes.  Calif* is a battle between rich & poor where the rich are the majority, democrat & extremely religious.

Feels like the lion kingdom is forever repeating its years there in some parallel universe, but the music is in a minor key. There's no way now to experience a full 24 hours there, like it was. The old man originally intended to buy the 1 story 3 houses closer to the mane road , but changed his mind. It makes sense that his final choice was 3 houses farther down the road because the houses closer to the mane road would have already been sold by the time he changed his mind. The 2 story was the last house in the phase. It remaned next to an empty field for at least a year. The change in architecture from the 2 different phases is visible. Lions run in much older neighborhoods nowadays, yet the architecture of that 1981 neighborhood is uniquely haunting. Early 80's houses were architecture gone wrong, with odd triangular windows, odd diamond windows in odd places. The idea with tract housing is to make it as mass producible yet functional as possible. They had ways o

Taliban finally were back in the saddle, with an impressive looking photo of them sitting in an important looking government room.  20 years & trillions of printed doll hairs were nullified in an instant when the Bide handed control back.  US followed Russia's path in trying & failing to reform Afgha.  The taliban bided their time, waiting for a weak enough president to finally run out of desire to fight. There will be a stonk selloff & oil will get a bump.  It'll be time for the lion kingdom to make its next trade out of fiat money.  The fed will do what it has to to fund the government & keep the selloff short lived. The Taliban controlled Afgha for many years before 2001 & we all got along until they got a hair too ambitious.  The mane concerns are whether they're going to seek revenge for the last 20 years, whether another Bin Laden is going to evolve, whether they're going to have nukes.  There are many other terrorist governments with their o

It's a new height of inflation when the owner of a Chevy Suburban can only afford a beat up 40 year old house. According to the goog, it had 2 owners since 2007. The current owners have had it for over 4 years, so are sitting on a few million. The old man's original landscaping was gone before 2000. The garage door was replaced between 2000 & 2007. Sections of roof not covered by tiles are now showing signs of rotting. The old man's burgler alarm is still hanging on, but became a rusted scar after 2000. The only surviving renovations from the old man are the concrete extension to the driveway & the burgler alarm. The lion kingdom has since learned its nightmares & fear of ghosts in that house were not unfounded. The neighborhoods bordering the bay were actually built on indian burial grounds. A human lion hybrid living there could have amplified the spiritual presence. The only documented burial ground is a shellmound 1.5 miles SW of the house. Indian b

Some more footage of Schwarz's kitchen ceiling rounded the media, making the lion kingdom wonder how his mansion wasn't a former retail space.  The schwarz kitchen really is the heart of the house.  His daughter Christina is a world class trophy wife. Lions used to think 30 was ugly, then got told to get lost by all the 30 year olds.  After 40, the discovery was made.  30 is the new 20. He's moving left while staying registered republican & campaigning for more restrictions on eating pork, more capital gains tax, more insurance mandates, more mask mandates.  Just 1 more mandate will fix everything.  Republicans have to move left to stay relevant. Money printer surpassed 8.25 trillion doll hairs this week, sending bond yields back to 0.  The next $3.5 trillion printing plan began the symbolic process of being whittled down to a number of trillions that only seem tame because of the starting price, by a generation which never knew houses below $1 million. In the battle fo

Dave made an interesting point during his bike ride around Sydney. All houses depreciate. Only the land gains value. It's a logical point. At the same time, if houses always depreciate, there would be no point in investing in renovations besides improving the owners experience. Obviously, most home owers renovate to add value to it or at least rent it. The lion parents never renovated & they spent as little as possible in landscaping. They just flipped. Most of the houses now sold in Calif* are torn down & replaced by the new owners. Assuming houses always depreciate & any money invested in renovation is a loss, it makes sense to build the cheapest barndominium possible without regard to all the unnecessary rooms like the wet bar, the living room, the study. Best string cheese

The 3rd & final Everyday Guy episode was the 1st time we got to see the leads & directors & any of his interactions with the workers.  Taylor Swift started out in human resources & swiftly migrated to construction management.  Sam Patel isn't on the linkedins, but he's been in the cleanup photos looking unimpressed. Sadly, it was revealed that the recycled tower crane arms are not for catching, but quick disconnects for fueling.  They haven't built any catching hardware. The employee enthusiasm is a bit canny.  It wasn't previously announced he would be there that night, yet they're running towards him, anxious to tell him the story.  They're quite a bubbly contrast to the boss arriving completely wasted, like a machine which has grown beyond its creator. You never know if they're putting on the smiles the boss wants to see, if they're just enamored to be in the modern Edison's presence, or if they even notice the boss is wasted.  In
