Another run through polar express this year.  Full review: https://growmane.blogspot.com/2023/12/polar-express-continues-to-intrigue.html   That shot of the train in the context of the parade ground got the lion kingdom's attention.  It was the centerpiece.  Scenes of the remote canadian wilderness on xmas eve night continue to intrigue.  archive.org obtained the rights to the original book, after many years. This one was even downloadable, in somewhat of a badly cropped, half assed scan. https://archive.org/details/ThePolarExpress-English/page/n7/mode/2up Striking resemblance to certain scenes in the movie.  For all the hype about automated book scanning, the quality is absolutely horrendous.  The book had none of the romance between the hero & the heroine, the adventure in the north pole factory, the hunt for the lost ticket, the out of control train, the spoiled brat, the skeptical kid, the ghost.  It was a very simple kid book...

Then there was 22 & the tendon was quite fragged again.  The 1st battery only went 3500mAh or 12 miles because it was too cold.  It was 42F.  The 2nd battery gave 3258 for the last 10 miles.  They really don't lose significant capacity compared to the amount of current & temperature range they lose.  Teslas retain most of their range but lose acceleration & temperature resistance over time.     Staying near restaurant heaters was essential to survive that cold. Because of the desire for speed work, the tendon has 1 more long run in it before xmas.  Because of the long term fog, it might be a city run.  Speed work followed by a day off seems to benefit it more than any other workout. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m16aOJ8l9Us The 1st real naysayer got recommended.  No-one is saying interest rates could enter ...

It came to pass that the lion kingdom started snoring at 50.  It currently only happens when lying face up & it has yet to become as loud as the attainable women.  The soft palate has grown over the years & sagged down.  It started making noise when doing normal tasks at age 49.  It has grown in frequency since then. ---------------------------------------------------------- Noted universities have all dropped standardized testing, while the industry has gone all in on standardized leet code testing.  It represents a decline in enrollment with an increase in labor force.   ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So the lion kingdom finally realized a huge 36% loss on real estate after a 20 year battle.  For many years, the old man encouraged buying land.  He drove around the sierras & Fl*rida looking at 5 acre plots of land for decades, eventually buyin...

The blockbuster model this year seems to be audio segmentation.  They can split a sound track into separate dialog, music, effects tracks, theoretically by generating each track from scratch.  The output contains none of the original audio but is generated from training on many clean sources with just dialog, music, or effects. Lions have never needed such a thing, but gootubers use it to replace copyrighted music.  It's used as the ultimate noise reduction in restoring analog audio.  It might be able to recover extremely damaged audio, with a lot of hallucinations. Hiss has been all but forgotten for over 10 years now.  Only the oldest ASMR videos have hiss.  Only generation X remembers it being a necessary part of audio. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Government shutdown perks. To be clear, food stamp benefits continue under court order but the government repres...

https://www.sfgate.com/food/article/pizza-hut-drivers-layoffs-18575596.php     Hundreds of Calif. Pizza Hut restaurants to lay off all delivery drivers     The march of progress continues as the ages old in-house delivery drivers are replaced by gig workers who aren't subject to the new minimum wage.  Most of the staff was long ago replaced by confusers.  Lions noted local fast food want ads offering $17/hour.  The state is raising that to $20.     It's unclear if the government was really the cause of the staff reductions.  Not having to worry if an animal copied your order correctly or looking like you don't know what the hell you're doing to a line of hungry animals is a big improvement.  Helas, lions grew up in that tougher world where only cash was accepted, everyone watched you ordering, & employees bare pawed the food.   --------------------------------------------------------------------------------...
