The number of millionaires was 12% in 2019 & probably hit 20% since the inflation of 2021-2022 began. 1 in every 5 animals you see every day is now a millionaire but the median net worth is still probably just $200,000. Lions pondered how median net worth could be so low. Most millennials accumulated over $1 million by age 40, but houses are well over $2 million. Most of them bought houses after 2020. They put most of their wealth in a down payment, borrowed over $1 million, & had maybe a couple hundred thou as an emergency fund. Their net worth is calculated from equity - debt. The recoverable value of their house isn't counted, so net worth amounts to just a couple hundred thou despite having over $1 million in equity. Debt may not have any interest or risk like it did before quantitative easing, but it's still devastating to the numbers.
