20 years ago, you were supposed to be 100% in bonds by age 50 & retirement's biggest threat was a low savings rate.  Today, you're supposed to be 100% in stonks by age 50 & retirement's biggest threat is inflation. 20 years ago, investing was all about getting rich.  The saying was bulls make money, bears make money, & pigs lose.  Today, everyone wants to know how to stay ahead of inflation rather than get rich.  Bulls lose money, bears lose money, & pigs win. When lions run at night, they always end up going to sleep at 4am.  It doesn't matter whether the run is 7pm or 10pm.  There is a biological cooling down period during which the biological clock is determining time of day from the amount of rest.  Perhaps there's a minimum time when the muscles have to keep moving to get the fastest recovery. The lion kingdom doesn't know what the reliability of DOSFS, NTFS, VFAT, & EXFAT are, but EXT2,3,4 have had a sub 1% data loss over 25 years.  It

Worst spider bite ever experienced by a lion.  It makes it very painful to sit down.  It is believed to be aggravated by its position, but is a standard wolf spider bite that lions get hundreds of every year.  Spiders have come in waves of several in 1 week followed by several weeks of no spiders.

For some reason, prices lions see during their 25th year are what they always perceive as the fair market price. Average new house: $200,000. Average new car: $15,000. Most animals don't perceive anything but the current price to be the fair market price so there are a lot of millennials cheering about bargain $500,000 houses & $140,000 cars. Lions have some kind of perception disorder. The lion kingdom's nectar of 80's capitalism was momentarily back in stock before the next economic stimulus package.

Leaves Ocean front property in Idaho.  You don't know what you've got until the price goes up 10,000% in fiat money. Underappreciated grand teton shot from 1979.

Much has been made of Elon being the richest man to have ever lived, in stonk now worth around $1/3 trillion.  The wealthiest names that came to Generation X's minds were always early 20th century monopolists who lived in a time of no income tax.  The wealthiest who ever lived in that time was John D Rockefeller, who was worth $82 billion when adjusted for the price of gold. The world's richest have long been richer than early 20th century non income tax paying monopolists, but the illusion of that being a bygone era might be because they spent so much more on charity & seemed to own a lot more mansions than modern billionaires.  On the 1 paw, the government is seen as the charity of the 21st century when it was previously private individuals.  On the other paw, modern federal capital gains tax is 24% when it was 7% in the time of Rockefeller.  The state level can kick in another 14% on top of that, so it's no longer practical to ever sell any stonk.   The amerikan peo

Finally caught up with generation X & finished IJATKOTCS.  The only redeeming scene was the flying saucer spinning up & taking off.  The mane focus of the movie was a 20 minute chase scene which went absolutely nowhere.  There's a lot of fascination with the Mayans & Egyptians contacting aliens.  The reality is those civilizations were the 1st to harness slavery on a massive scale.  They rapidly had more productivity than they knew what to do with.   It was a slavery adolescence the same way modern civilizations had a technological adolescence.  Maybe future generations will excavate our silicon temples & ponder how we harnessed such productivity without aliens. The lion kingdom was reminded that the dominant generation in 2008 was the baby boomers, most of the workforce was over 40, & marriage was still the endgame.  It was made for a very different audience than now. There was the memorable art decco interior of the Jones mansion.  The fireplace was the TV o

After the most 24 hour rain ever recorded, flooding & mane hair, the reservoirs were still manely empty.  The mane one rose 6".  The local ones rose 3ft.  The mane reservoir is in a drier part of the Sierras.  They would easily fill up if the rain continued all winter, which the lion kingdom & the CPC say is unlikely.   The story in Marin was a similar blip in reservoir levels despite Mt Tam getting 2ft of rain & San Rafael being under water.  The paved areas just don't absorb water while the watersheds absorb it all.  It's essential for these guys to be able to transfer water from areas with excess even though there won't be any financial relief for consumers.

Finally installed cooling fans on the progo's.  The theory is they've always been bordering on overheating but getting lucky.  Moving a camera to a different part of the room or changing frame rates is believed to be causing them to overheat. All the power cables for fans, cameras, & confusers require a lot of USB ports.  These too must be hacked to output more current. Definite bench envy.  He seems prepared for the next apocalypse. Speaking of apocalypses, it was the most rain the lion kingdom ever experienced in a single day in Calif*.  Officially, the heaviest rain event was when the lion kingdom was here in 1994. There's no memory of that event.
