Renters are the tip of the spear in water rationing.  The story evolves as municipalities discover how much they're going to get.  They try to reserve as many water rights as they can by April, pumping the Sacramento river, buying water from the central valley project.  How much they actually get is usually far less by June.  This year, the central valley project is down to providing only 25% of its contract & probably going to 0.

Lions actually don't get any water from the Calif* water project & manely rely on a small section of the sierras.  The Calif* water project has a 2.4 million acre foot capacity & the central valley project has a 7 million acre foot capacity, neither of which has ever been delivered.

Then, bans on washing cars & using garden hoses come true, which have a material impact on standard of living.  Apartments don't even allow using a garden hose while home owers can still clean stuff.

A coworker who moved on to bigger & better things once worked at Nagra, the famous audio gear company which once made truly unique mechanical marvels.  In the last 20 years, there was a trend of all these pro gear companies to shift to really low end, dime a dozen consumer products, manely consumer set top boxes identical to thousands of others.  So set top boxes & not high end audio were the focus of his job at Nagra.

It wasn't a Nagra but a Magnetophon which got Vladimir Feltsman out of Russia.

Nagra's compact tape recorders were made famous by the Swiss secret police spying on citizens.

It's a sure bet that everything Potato Jet reviews is moments away from becoming a brand of consumer set top boxes.  What was once only attainable with a professional budget & high barrier to entry is now attainable in a penny ASIC.
