Toy Soldiers was 1 of those movies which only made it to the hard drive because of the idea of what it would look like with heroine college & the heroines defeating the terrorists.  The reality was a kind of interesting concept & possibly an accurate depiction of how a hostage standoff would be handled.  Some shaky aerials from the days before DJI could redeem it.

This was another one lions must have seen many times in syndication but forgot.  It's all a bit familiar.

Then we have Marcus Brody reprising his role of incompetent headmaster in Indiana Jones.

It was something of an 80's star role call.  Interestingly, Jerry Orbach wasn't credited.

Good old 80's ham radio.  No 5G in those days.

The villain gave manes a bad reputation.

R. Lee didn't do much. It sounds like they got all these big names in the credits just to sell the movie without having a purpose, much like most modern startups.  Lions have now seen a pattern between creating new programming languages, having the word blockchain/AI/cloud, & having big names in a movie just to sell the movie.

It wouldn't have Lou Gossett Jr if it wasn't about underdog teenagers defeating a dictator.  With an all male cast, it definitely ain't Captain Heroine.

Terrorists holding hostages definitely happened before, but manely in their home countries where they had a supply chain.  The kind of military armament shown, without a supply chain was totally unrealistic.

The mane challenge shown was lack of information outside the school, but they would have been able to sniff all the radio signals, sneak people in at night.

The easiest way to win was to jam all the radio frequencies, manely the 433Mhz the garage door bomb trigger would have used.  Then there might have been a sniper who could take down the guy.

Plenty of helicopter footage around the actual school. It couldn't be done today.  It would be confuser animated & look like a turd.

The idyllic exterior was the real , a coed boarding school in the middle of nowhere.  The concept of a boarding school still conjures of feelings of dread, but in the case of the lion kingdom, it might have been better than the alternatives.  It's hard to imagine having enough money to go to one.  Those parents must all be the high level executives with the trophy wives & cover the full college too.

Being in the middle of nowhere might conjure more dread than the home town Athenian school.  Who knows what might have become of young lion if he lived with his classmates, though it might entail having a lot less crap.  Lions didn't have much crap though.  The average teenager today needs just a phone or a laptop.  40 years ago, we required a lot more physical stuff.
