Anyways, the next idea was revising the GUI to get rid of
the drop shadows, decorations. The modern trend is flat colors, but the
trends have to change every 6 months for these corporations to stay in business.
1 idea that looked good was an apply button in the file dialog which would allow loading files from a bunch of directories or picking 1 file at a time without closing the window. The trick is most files require building an index. The file dialog would have to be frozen during the load process or it would have to be locked out of loading again. It would be a functional but unpleasant experience.
The biggest win right now would be repositioning the plugins to the top when there isn't an asset.
The lion kingdom considered applying to FUTO for a grant. The problem is there are so many forks, so many animals who expect a cut even if their contribution never worked, so many animals who would expect a cut for a feature idea in the future which they may or may not ever create.
How do they determine who gets the money? They listed the Gimp, ffmpeg, blender as grant recipients. Did they give the money to the founders? Did the developers have to form a holding company which then distributes the money to whoever the latest developer is?
Rossguy explained the reason he only uses Davinci on Windows is because he uses a de-essing & compressor plugin, it's the most reliable, & it requires an nvidia GPU on Linux. Cinelerra has a compressor but not a de-esser. Lions suspect Rossguy is religious about Davinci & just won't use anything else.
