Set to the task of moving 5% of the lion kingdom's net worth from treasuries to a tax advantaged stonk in a certain amount of time & doing it all in the taxable account.  The interest income tax hit was a big motivation. Lions have taken to calling it way to get a taxable account to act like an IRA, but there won't be a way to hit undo without a tax.  Lions still see dips being rare & small in an otherwise unforgiving run up.

 

Basically, 1 buy every time BRK-B falls a certain amount.  It's an ugly game, calling a dip what once was a 300% gain from where smarter lions would have bought.   The inflation picture remanes well within the historic target & lions still feel the current dip was selling to pay taxes.  The media will do anything to avoid blaming a dip on tax payments, so they instead focus on an inflation report.

Last year had a dip during the same time.  That was a 20% drop on a long term fed move.  The current situation is not a long term move but 1 inflation report in a sea of fudged inflation reports. 

The lion kingdom acquired a $70 confuser that goes 3x faster than a $100 confuser 5 years ago.  It chews up efficientdet like chocolate.  Covid delayed human progress by 5 years but progress is due for a big leap.

The airline stonk really did lift off while BRK-B fell.  On the last day of the dip, the airline stonk popped back up to where it began while BRK-B stayed down 5%.  Lions didn't capture any of the difference though, with no prior knowledge of the coming trend. The airline being more volatile, could have popped lower or higher.  Like dating, there are limits to what can be done in mortality.

Interest tax is bad but the biggest loss is going to be the down payment on a house.  When you're making enough passive income for the taxes to hurt, it's almost better to rent forever.

The future of interest rates is simple.  They drop to 0 as fast as they can, let inflation run as hot as they can for as long as they can, then quickly jack interest up to 5% to regain public trust before dropping it back to 0 as soon as they can.  The process repeats until they create a new "digital" currency or lose their sovereignty.  There is no equilibrium rate.

 Finally watched Creepshow, 40 years after rereading the comic book many times by flashlight. The highlight visually might have been the now vintage Apple II which was cutting edge in those days. Nothing utterly terrifying.  Better writing than anything current.  Only slightly deviates from the comic book. The highlight emotionally might have been when after feeding his wife to the warewolf, the now liberated man sits down to doing anything he wants.  The big deviation was the warewolf escaping in the end, while the comic book kept him trapped underwater. The zombies might have been easier on the eyes than the single women. The original comic book is now on archive.org with a 1 hour free trial.  With a 4k monitor, all you need to do is screencap it while turning the pages.  The raw images are very high res but a 4k screencap is still higher than any animal would actually read it in.
