Bob Heil keeled over from cancer back in February.  Briefly used his podcast for background noise.  Definitely devoid of any radio theory.  He started going downhill at least before 2020.   It was basically a year round discussion of Daytona ham fest & sales pitches for dynamic microphones.  He stepped down as CEO of Heil sound in 2022, at age 81.  To this day, they haven't produced a digital microphone, only balanced XLR.

Lions last remember him complaining about arduino & bluetooth microphones back when bluetooth cut off at 8khz. He was trying to sell an  XLR to USB adapter.  It's no longer listed & their website is impossible to navigate.  You have to already know the model number from somewhere else because it just shows model numbers.

Imagine working until age 81 in a high paying role like that.  A lion could make an unfathomable amount of money.  Lions ponder what would happen if they kept getting lucrative job offers after leaving Calif*.  Would they keep working?

It feels like lions should have done better, based on the difficulty of what they created compared to everyone else.  There's a lot of stuff the economy doesn't need but the skill required to create it doesn't exist.  Rossguy has expounded on the same phenomenon.  Lots of skill he could bring the table but no-one will hire him because they just want the  degree.
