Strangely fulfilling to do something as completely worthless as commodore 64 development, with digital versions of the same documentation lions had 40 years ago & modern cross development tools.  Part of it is finding the right project.

It's manely based on a finite number of things lions imagined 40 years ago but never could finish.  The questions to be answered are if they could have been done & what the alternative past would have looked like.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The $50k emergency all animals need to prepare for is a car recall where the part is no longer made.  The DMV rejects registrations until all recalls have been repaired.  They give 4 years to do the repair.  There are so many recalls in modern times, it's best to let them accumulate until the last minute or face many days of being without a car.  There's a real chance that you won't be allowed to drive it anymore, no matter how good the condition is, because some lawyer found a way to make money off of an obscure connector & the part is no longer made.

The lion kingdom once waited an hour for the dealer taxi & that was the end of that.   It was easier to run home.  It's very problematic in the post running era.

The worst case would be needing a new car & then needing to commute to Elon's companies, 5 days a week, in the south bay.  At least 6 months would go to just paying for the car.  Commuting 3 days a week or not at all would make the cheapest gas car a no brainer.  Chances are the last jobs won't be top tier companies & will have 3 commuting days at most.  Most jobs have migrated back to the south bay.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The lion car was not "in the affected range" of the recalled part & they didn't do anything, but theoretically it was checked off in the DMV database.  Helas, still no sticker.  The DMV then mailed out a cryptic letter requesting a "signature on REG 156".  The Goog had nothing on this error & never in the 24 years of registration taxes did they request it before.

The only thing goog had was REG 156 being a request form for replacement stickers, with a $27 fee but no instances of anyone ever getting a "signature on REG 156" request.  Either the government was trying to collect more money by not sending the sticker & then charging for a replacement or someone else submitted a REG 156 form without the lion kingdom's signature but with the same license plate.  Maybe someone else was trying to use the license plate without paying taxes.

The easiest step would be doing exactly what it says & mailing in a blank REG 156 with a signature.  Perhaps the plan was for someone else to fill it out & charge whatever they wanted.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Helas, they still didn't do anything despite all the smog inspections, recall notices, fees being paid.  The government not doing anything is a typical story.  It's going to require a full day or multiple days at the DMV to unstick the process, but since the lion kingdom's tendon perished, there hasn't been any incentive to drive anywhere.  The reduced mobility fell right in the sweet spot of being just enough to meet all needs & not enough to justify driving.

The lion kingdom's beloved Entrement Paganini Rhapsody was recorded on Feb 1, 1958 in the Philadelphia Broadwood hotel.  The hotel had a large ballroom called the crystal ballroom.  It gave that recording a very distant echo sound.  For that piece, it was perfect.  Always thought it was recorded in France because of Entrement.  Entrement Paganini Rhapsody powered many anxiety attacks & fantasies.  Lions reacted to music like other animals reacted to opiates.  It was unreal.

As for the lion kingdom's other Ormandy favorites, they might have also been recorded in the same ballroom.  A lot of Cliburn's concertos were with that orchestra.  Some internet comments say the Philadelphia orchestra made all its stereo recordings there.

Entrement's Rach 2 was with the NY philharmonic in 1960, probably in the Manhattan center's grand ballroom.  West side story was recorded there in 1961.

List of cliburn recording locations.  The beloved Liszt sonata probably in Aug 1973 & most of his best work was made in RCA studio A, NY city.  Studio A was at 1133 Avenue of the Americas from 1969 to 1993.  It was a 60x100x30ft room.

The building still stands today, as Steinway headquarters.  Imagine walking in there with $1/2 mil & picking out a Steinway D right next to where those recordings were made.  Then it would drop to $100k the moment it left the driveway.

The muddy Chopin album was recorded in May 1961: Webster Hall, New York City

Lisle Joyeuse happened in Webster Hall, NY city in 1972 & again at RCA Studio A in 1975.  The 1975 version sounds like the one on  CD.

His last studio recording was Brahms: Intermezzo in B minor on Aug 15, 1975.  He stayed in New York all summer & recorded a short piece every few days.

Most of his studio recordings seemed to happen in Webster hall but not his best work.  Webster hall still stands & is a ballroom rather than a purpose built studio.  Having a controlled environment probably makes a difference.

They strangely have all the Eugene Ormandy recordings at Academy of Music or Town hall in Philadelpha instead of the hotel.

https://classical-pianists.net/ shows Gould recording manely at Columbia 30th St studios.  He did only a few of the last ones in RCA studio A.

Browning & Entrement are unlisted.

There are entries for Liszt concert programs.

Rach's last recordings were indeed made in 1942 in Hollywood.  A lot of unauthorized recordings were recopyrighted after 2018 & redistributed for exorbitant amounts of money.

The trick with vintage recordings is they capture a certain place & time but after a few minutes, you get it.
