The lion kingdom has pondered how so many Calif* ahans voted for politicians who made life in Calif* impossible, fled Calif* after 2020, made the nation wide price of housing double, then voted for the same Calif* politicians they fled from.

The definition of making lemonade out of lemons.  The guy you voted for couldn't do the job but you'll get it right on attempt 2.  It's not about voting for success.  It's about voting for interim candidates to pass the torch to someone better later on.

In any sane system, they'd be praying for Bide to get the hell off the stage, but in US's 1 party system they don't have to try at all.  The only reason they can win by calling themselves interim candidates is because amerikans vote purely on party loyalty.

The final goofy campaign move was trying to sell Kamal as the underdog.  Democrats haven't been the underdog since 1988.  It's been a 1 party system & arguably the US of Calif* for 30 years.  They have to experience cognitive decline or a recall election to even begin to lose.  How can a Calif* democrat be an underdog?

Calif* long dreamed of a wealth tax, long before the voters promoted it to the national level.  Like most Calif* concepts, it would impact the poor while the rich would be unaffected.  The poor rely on the stonk market for their retirement funds.  The tax would instantly cut 25% off the value of the stonk  market as large investors sell shares to pay off their tax.  The rich wouldn't go broke but the poor would lose everything.

It wasn't so  much when the internet was monetized  as when it became a full time livelihood that the trend shifted to all manufactured opinions solely intended to drive engagement.  We had adsense before 2010 but there were still real opinions on subjects because no-one made a living  on it.  Now the internet has become nothing but an engagement farm.  Everyone pastes the 1 opinion  guaranteed to generate the most engagement.

Lions have pondered how much making the school year nearly year round affects the climate.  The 7 day work week affects the climate, but the world isn't following the same school year the way it follows weekends.

Generation Z didn't have  summer vacations like we had, so they probably didn't have as meaningful summer jobs.  Generation X was the last one to have a traditional summer vacation.  Did nearly year round school make the last 2 generations more competitive?
