Finally finished Quest for Camelot, which along with Phantom Menace & Godzilla, was 1 of the terrible movies that got generation X married. It was absolutely unbearable. The lion kingdom only watched it because David Foster wrote The Prayer, which was the 1 song in that movie which was a hit.
It really was a time capsule of the extremely progressive ideas of the time, with the same narratives we saw in other 90's movies like Mulan, Pitch Black, & Titanic. The end game was an egalitarian marriage & the heroine was a lot more dominant than they are today.
Times are a lot more conservative. They couldn't make a movie about a heroine saving a full grown man, today. They save kids or just themselves. They don't get married anymore.
The sounds of Celine Dion, Jane Seymour, Pierce Brosnan, & Journey blared through the lion kingdom's home made stereo. Did generation X really listen to Celine Dion at their weddings?
