Lots of new bans & taxes today. Double digit sales tax is here to stay, after 40 years of steadily rising from 6%. On the 1 paw, Elon was right to use his flexibility as a CEO to move out. On the other paw, these are taxes on poor people rather than taxes on the rich. Someone who can afford an electric car doesn't care about whether the gas tax is $50 or $100 or whether sales tax is 5 or 10%.

There was some intrigue about Calif*'s ban on official business with 17 other states on the basis of discriminatory laws. Most Amerikans support this ban yet oppose the wolf amendment, which bans use of NASA funds to collaborate with China, yet China famously doesn't allow women to have jobs after age 50.

Well, maybe a ban on space program collaboration is a bigger scale than a ban on state funded travel & maybe gays are more important than women over 50, but Calif* is the world's largest economy. Anyone who needs a job has to live under Calif* rule for part of their lives & devote most of their productivity to funding the government.

After inflation raised the lion kingdom's 3 year old Thrustmaster from $40 to $65, the decision was made to try again to install Micro$$$$oft Flight Simulator. Windows 10 proved impossible to install natively on the ASUS x470. The official installer couldn't detect any of the hard drives. The unofficial installer couldn't detect any hard drive besides the 1st one. It installed on Virtualbox, but it would never boot natively. It just froze on the bootloader screen.

The solution ended up being to unplug every hard drive & plug the windows hard drive into the 1st SATA port. The unofficial installer detected it & installed a version which finally booted natively. Who knows if it would ever have installed on a single partition instead of the entire drive.

Another problem was the unofficial installer wouldn't boot if copied with the dd command. It had to be copied by a program called Rufus.  The official versions of Windows are all downloaded from microsoft & worked with dd.

The windows drive could be moved back to SATA port 2 & booted from GRUB on port 1.

The windows drive would not boot in virtualbox anymore until an obscure option was enabled in virtualbox: Enable EFI

With that in mind, it might have installed in virtualbox correctly if enable EFI was enabled.
