Millennials who had it together at an age when the lion kingdom was clueless & then reaped the rewards in middle age.

Then there are the classmates of lions who had it together 30 years ago & now are doing CNBC interviews.



So Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fled the country.   Other than that, the rhetoric sounds like 2003 again.  If Trump went around saying Russia was about to invade, the media would destroy him.  In an about face, the media is agreeing.


Putin has no chance against US in a symmetric war & the soldiers themselves would probably desert if they encountered an F-35.  The problem is increasing doubt Bide will do anything when Putin invades.  Bide could have sent iron dome or patriot missiles to Kiev, but instead he spent the last month campaigning for the right skin color in the supreme court.


They'll continue producing the Antares rocket as a Russian territory, since US already imports the RD-181 from Russia.  The lion kingdom still agrees with peace through power of the Reagan days.    Those days are over.  Peace through weakness is the new theory & no-one except the party faithful are taking Bide man seriously.


Peace through weakness already gave us the swift collapse of Afghanistan, so perhaps Putin sees a similar thing happening when Biden attempts to recover what's left of Ukraine.

So 4 hours & 5.4 miles was all it took to wipe out John Gerrish and Ellen Chung.  The lion kingdom found this most intriguing.  Lions routinely run 6 miles on relatively flat ground in temperatures over 100F.  It's not full speed but faster than they were going.  Their 1st 4 miles were downhill or flat.  Their path is clearly visible on the goog earth.


That final ascent gets more interesting when viewed from the side.





So it was 1 mile & 90 minutes into the final ascent, fully exposed in 109F heat where they decided to send the SOS.  At 2 hours & 1.4 miles into the ascent, they expired.  

Their last picture was the start of the ascent & while the government didn't release it, we can presume they didn't take pictures after they started suffering.  They must have run out of water & discovered they were screwed during the 1st mile of the ascent.  It's hard to believe the decision point came such a short time after starting the ascent.  90 minutes is a real long time to go 1 mile.  Lions typically go 20-25 minutes per mile on the steepest ascents.  

Maybe they had dog & kid problems.  The thing to do was to go back to the river & use river water to stay wet without drinking it.  Then, they could have soaked their clothing, filled their water bladder for cooling, & tried the ascent in cooler weather.

The final moves resemble the death valley Germans & Philip Kreycik.  Heat stroke seems to rapidly cloud the available options.  Humans are very good at avoiding it, but when it happens, it's a rapid decline.

 Finally watched Creepshow, 40 years after rereading the comic book many times by flashlight. The highlight visually might have been the now vintage Apple II which was cutting edge in those days. Nothing utterly terrifying.  Better writing than anything current.  Only slightly deviates from the comic book. The highlight emotionally might have been when after feeding his wife to the warewolf, the now liberated man sits down to doing anything he wants.  The big deviation was the warewolf escaping in the end, while the comic book kept him trapped underwater. The zombies might have been easier on the eyes than the single women. The original comic book is now on archive.org with a 1 hour free trial.  With a 4k monitor, all you need to do is screencap it while turning the pages.  The raw images are very high res but a 4k screencap is still higher than any animal would actually read it in.
