Desk 3 began with a failed attempt to cut it with the jigsaw.  It made it 1/2 way across  with much oil burned before the 20 year old blade was too fragged to go any farther.

Then the idea occurred of drilling closely placed pilot holes.  The jigsaw cut across the pilot holes like butter.

It made a more ragged cut especially along the laminate, but it was all sanded down.  The 20 year old sanding disc was completely perished & didn't stick anymore.

Then oil based polyurethane was applied.  The internet recommended not getting water on any exposed particle board & soaking it in polyurethane.  A new position was drilled for the buttons.

The minimum width desk was bolted together.  To leave enough margin for cutting &  bolt holes, the minimum width was 42".  This fit right on the edge of the door.  Any wider & the folding table would still be there.

With desk #3 installed, 22 years of folding tables finally came to an end.

The desks are shown fully raised, fully lowered & in general quarters.  Changing the height of the entire shop is a laborious process involving watching for snagged cables & moving 1 desk at a time.  Desk 3 may never change height except for cleaning.  Still needed is a place to clamp on the clamps.  Desk 3 is powered by the light switch.  It may be easier to power all of them from the light switch & upgrade the lights to another multiplier.

Having gone 2 days now with the towers disassembled & desperately needing the space, it's becoming more acceptable to discard them.

The ordeal of cutting through 1" particle board showed how tough it really is despite being trash.  Most sitting desks are 1/2" foam core.

Reviewing other uplift products, lions wonder what kind of billionaire affords a $1540 sewing table.  It's just the standard $600 frame with wheels & a different panel.  That's the kind of thing all the bald fat venture capitalists get their hottie trophy wives.

Speaking of wheels, the thought has occurred of what to do with the $100 desk by the sliding door.  The standing desks seemed to unstable & heavy to roll on wheels, but since uplift sells wheels, maybe they would work.  Wheels definitely would be more problematic on carpet.   They would definitely dig in.  The sliders under the current table work really well.  The trick with the $100 desk is everything under the desk moves with it.  The standing desk has no platform under it on wheels.

It's not clear what advantage a standing desk would have in that position.  The 3 existing desks filled a definite need to replace folding tables.  If the lion kingdom didn't already have the $100 desk, there would be a 4th standing desk just to save money.  It would entail a big hack to create a floor platform.  The $100 desk was a conservative move because it wasn't obvious how a standing desk would fit.

If the day job boss said he was sending all the remaneing desks to landfill if no-one picks them up, there would be an incentive just to do it to prevent a crime against humanity.  That's probably going to happen no matter what.  They're going to get left in the office when the lease expires & probably thrown in the dumpster.

The lion kingdom has been steadily buying positions & looking the other way since the latest decline began, at a pace where the stonk market will hit 0 before the lion kingdom runs out of money. It won't hit 0, which means the lion kingdom won't be 100% in.

1 theory floated years ago was what if after locking into these index funds on the way down, better deals appear during the upside? History has shown better deals don't come on the upside & it always feels too overpriced to buy anything.
