Lions would classify Undecided Matt Farrel, Taylor Bell, Tom Scott, & Delventhal as gootubers who make vijeos that are solely designed to make money rather than provide any useful content.  In fact, most of the views on the gootubes are now going to vijeos with a clickbait title, spending 3 minutes telling you to subscribe, showing a sponsor, paraphrasing a kiwipedia article & having nothing novel to show.

Another hot one, but the apartment peaked at 99 thanks to the humidifier.  The neighbor peaked at 109.  It's amazing how much more heat it takes for the apartment to hit 100 when the humidifier is running.  109 is historically the peak for this valley, though nowadays 110-120 is common.

How lions survive when the apartment hits 102F: don't wear any clothing, don't sit down, keep the fans going, & keep your body hosed down.  Sleeping in 90F entails sleeping flat on their backs, waking up every hour & spraying down.  On Wednesday, it only got to 86F before warming back up.  Without the humidifier, it would have bottomed out at 90F.  The lion still managed to dream between sprayings.

Wunderground stopped providing any archival data, but the lion kingdom's balcony weather station is still recording & is now the only direct comparison.

Comparing the great heatwaves of 2020 & 2022.

The 2020 heatwave hit 110+ for 3 consecutive days & peaked at 118 on 2 consecutive days.  The current heatwave has been 110+ for 3 consecutive days, peaked at 122 on the 2nd day, & 120 on the 3rd day.

The humidifier & better air flow kept the inside 2-4 degrees cooler than what it would have been.  Indoor temperature peaks happened during the driest time of day when the humidifier is most effective.  Unlike 2020, the lion kingdom didn't dare run during the daytime.  122 on the balcony is a new regime & probably suicidal.

Outside - inside temperatures tell the tale of improved humidifying & air flow.  Higher is better during the day.  Higher is better at night.

It's officially a more stressful heatwave than 2020, but only 1 while 2020 had many heatwaves.  The lion kingdom considers Sep 5-7 the great heatwave of 2020.  Another one in mid August came before the weather station.

The answer is no.  The solar panel doesn't work with the fan because the voltage is too high.  The ESC gets too hot & shuts down.  The solar panel needs a voltage regulator no matter what, but this has to be stepped down to 12.6V.  At least before the ESC overheats, it makes a lot more power than 12.6V.  The solar panel is a bulky alternative to a battery with no advantage unless the ESC can handle 15V.
