Finally finished Midsommar after Adam Savage recommended it, manely to see Florence Pugh's strong, dominant, 25 year old, stocky, hottie body for 3 hours.

What lions gleamed is the swedish hippie convent is a place where retribution is enacted on various forms on sinners, through a higher power that knows all.  Having said that, it's pretty germane for the sinners in a movie to die off while the righteous live.  All the men had adultery problems, especially the boyfriend.  Apparently, seeking prostitutes was a sin for the single men while the boyfriend was trying to get away from Pugh's strong, dominant, 25 year old, stocky, hottie body.

There's an implication of zombies but they're all men who were systematically drugged.  The supernatural events were all in their heads.  The only supernatural power is how the tribe knows who is good & who is evil.

The men are tempted with secret documents they're not allowed to photograph, sex with prostitutes, & drugs.  Eventually, they all succumb.

There's an implication that the lead tribe guy wants to hit it off with Pugh, but never succeeds.  He's the test she didn't fall for.

The most excitement might have been women pulling heavy objects.  This tribe isn't going to make 500,000 cars in a year.

There was 1 woman among the visitors who got knocked off.  The movie wasn't clear about what her sin was.

1 interesting shot was the feast they ate every day festering with flies, maybe showing how it was all a test.

Then all the bodies, dead or fully drugged, get loaded into the temple & set on fire.

The only evidence that the tribe is a crucible for good & evil is the final scene when Pugh savors revenge over her boyfriend.

This was just plain depressing for lions.  In 1995, you could get by in urban Utah for less than $1000/month.  As recently as 2020, it sounded excessive to need $100,000/year to retire but now it's already $24,000 in even the middle of nowhere.  In 10 years it really is going to cost over $100,000/year to live anywhere.

What a dumpster fire that stonk became & why lions are done with individual stonks.  1st, there were mass outages they blamed on computer malfunctions in 2021.  By the time of the mass cancellations of 2022, this was obviously an attempt to defraud the government.  Maybe it started because of the weather, but once a small fire starts burning it's all too easy to light the rest on fire & beg the government for a bailout.  The thing is they'll get their bailout because everyone is too big to fail.

The mighty Doug Kass was paywalled for the 1st time this year, but fortunately we have a goog.  The salient feature was the prediction of a 1st half rise & a 2nd half fall, but overall flat.  He sees inflation returning in the 2nd half.  Lions suspect the goverment will manufacture low inflation reports.  China's reopening should mean lower prices because they are the world's factory & a lot of the price increases that caused higher inflation readings were caused by Chinese products going out of production.  The inflation gauge is heavily based on chinese products because those have always been deflationary.  When chinese demand made commodity prices surge 20 years ago, the government just focused on the lower cost of chinese goods.

He sees bitcoin falling back below $5000.  Lions are surprised by how much time he devoted to bitcoin.  If a bitcoin was actually liquid & more than a speculative asset, lions would buy at $5000.
