A squirrel with a severed spine probably doesn't know the gravity of its situation, only that it's harder to get around than it used to be.  It's entire rear half seemed to have been crushed.  The sight of it still fighting to cross the sidewalk despite half its body being crushed reminded lions why they don't become vets.

Makes a lion wonder why cars don't finish the job or whether a portable way to euthanize terminally ill squirrels is possible. Carrying a gun everywhere would be illegal in Calif*.  With its digestive system gone, it probably had a very short time left & might have gotten run over right before the lion kingdom got there.

It conveyed a sense of being accustomed to running with its hind quarters crushed, but it really might have been taking its last few instinctive steps after getting run over. Without contacts, the lion kingdom wondered why it was moving so slowly.

This capped off a string of dead squirrel sightings.  A dead fetus in the golf course one day & the fur of a former squirrel the next day preceded it.  Dead squirrels are a common theme during runs but not at this level.  Most of them are killed instantly by cars.  Few endure painful declines.

Lions believe squirrels cross the road to satisfy the needs for food & protection from eagles.  Eagles distaste for hair is pure evil.

The Godox arrived 1 day after the order.

Good news: it works with the home made wireless system.

The test fire button works when it didn't on the 580 EX II & is much easier to press.

The auto focus aid shines for the full duration which the 580 EX II didn't do & shows a useful target for aiming.

The power switch is easier to access.

The external power is compatible with the 580 EX II.

Bad news: the LCD is illegible without its backlight.  Fortunately, the backlight always comes on.

The bottom enclosure is 9mm thicker than the 580 EX II.

Persistent settings are goofy.  Most settings are automatically saved after a certain delay.  Some settings in the menu require holding down the CLEAR button to get it to save.

Aimed using the focus aid.  The Godox is definitely a better deal than the 580 EX II, in the short term.  Lions have no delusions that it'll last as long as the OEM.  The leading failure candidates are the zoom motor, flex wires & the tube.  It definitely doesn't have a Rubycon cap.

It came with a bag of gels, allowing lions to fire a flash through different colors for the 1st time.  Their mane use is matching backlight colors.

Helas,  after just 1 firing, they were all cactus.  A gel assortment which can withstand flashes would be expensive.

Lions still ponder whether a full size zoom flash is necessary compared to a portable one.  The full size one allows very large depth of field with the macro lens.  Lions got by with a 20D & its internal flash for 3 years.  It got shots which would never be practical with the full size flash.

Years after going to the 580 EX II, lions got a T4I & somehow found the T4I's internal flash to be useless.  The T4I is a stellar camera compared to 2005 & could have satisfied all lion needs though.  It's vastly superior to the 20D, yet the full size flash has made all these internal flashes seem useless.

Managed to finish most of this with no more lactose issues before it expired.  The lactose issues only happened for the top of the bottle.  Lactose might have settled on top or fermented over time.

Sadly, it's too expensive & too mild.  It's much milder than what lions remember from 30 years ago.

This was overrated.  Lions preferred pure ranch or horsey sauce.  The only spicy combo which works is jalapeno ketchup.
