Gootube made more money on this dog turd than Apple.  As long as apple can keep unveiling a new next big thing every 6 months, it doesn't matter if none of them amount to anything.  Like programming languages, quantity is overpowering quality.  Iteration is mother of necessity.

The lion kingdom hasn't had a lasting paw recovery in over a year.  It was really only 5 months from Oct - Feb when it was firing on all 35 raptors.  Given little chance of recovery by marathon day, the plan is a 12 minute pace with heel striking.  Heel striking seems to avoid the offending tendon. 5h15m was the lion kingdom's marathon time long before the paw failed.  There won't be any more speed work & all effort will be focused on increasing the 12 minute pace distance.

The end for most runners seems be an age where body parts stop regenerating.

In recording transcendental etude #12, lions realized what a beast George Bolet was when he recorded all 12 in 1985, at age 70.   He played it 30 seconds faster & was a lot more accurate even if both recordings weren't perfect.  Younger lion would have tried to get longer takes with lots of reserve notes but ever since the stories of how Star Wars was made in the edit room with no frames to spare, old lion has settled on takes of only seconds with no notes to spare.  It's all about editing as part of the performance & making recordings you want to hear again instead of throw away.

There's a tradeoff in gootube land between expression & speed.  The faster & less expressive the video, the more views.

The last 20 minutes of takes weren't necessary. Lions have pondered how useful it would be to pause a recording, replay the last take, restart recording without creating a new file.  Early audio editors abstracted the recording from any file structure.  Nowadays, everything that records creates a new file when it resumes.

The bigger problem is when recording video, all the cameras would have to be restarted & resynced for every take.  Everything would have to continue recording silence during a replay.  There still isn't enough memory to record hours of silence.  It would take some heroic software to embed time code in the video, create an EDL with the video synchronized with the audio takes.

As mediocre as they are, there aren't many amateurs making recordings on lion level.  Most gootubers except for renowned pianists in heavily produced videos are all pretty bad.

George Bolet lived only 75 years & died 20 miles from the lion kingdom in Oct 1990, just as lions were losing their minds.
