What surprised lions was how no-one expected it to fall, so no-one had a camera running when it fell.  40 years ago, there would have been a locked down news camera recording it all day. 

What little phone footage there is was panning around because no-one looks at the screen anymore.  In the last 10 years, animals began looking at scenes with their own eyes.

The house was nowhere close to surviving.  The store is up next.  What captured the imagination was how these buildings lasted 100 years, all those disasters, only to succumb to either nature or man made diversion of the river.

The house & store owners were known simply as "the Barnes family".  They thought they were far enough from the river.  They or some lawyer will get a settlement from the gubment over the dam being unmanetained.

The store eventually did succumb, but to human excavators.  It must have been unstable ground.  Wonder who paid for the demolition.

A few weeks later, the river continued chewing up the road next to the store & followed the contour of the road, probably because of drainage patterns.

The Indiana Jones house is 502 Front St  Antonito, Colorado

What intrigued lions was not only how many animals have a bit of their past there, but is there really a man cave in the back for Sean Connery to draw pictures of the grail on a summer afternoon in 1912?

 

The real view from the man cave is on the north side of the house, right up against a fence.  Of course, the lighting is artificial.  The sun was to the west.  The fake man cave faced east.

The real & fake window River looks out of is the south east facing window.

View from the south east window matches the movie.

The real interior just leads to a fireplace on the east end. The highlight in lion opinion was the man cave with its view of the back yard on the east end.

It's plausible that the indoor visuals were all shot in the real house in order to not have to fake the views.  The only things that were altered were the directions the actors faced in the man cave & the lighting.

It was implied that Henry Jones moved up from Utah/Colorado to New York after his wife died because she understood the grail too well.
