Bull markets like the last few days make lions ponder the plan.  The plan is to only take money out to fill cash needs during bull markets, but how does one determine a bull market?  The market has a long term trend.  It's not perfect but it's been better than nothing.

It seems there's no substitute for just being old, to know what is a pop or a dip.  It really depends on a lot more than the number, what's driving the change, headlines, monetary policy, personal financial position. It takes a long time to have enough money to take risk.

Made lions ponder who the middle age, lifetime, single male & single female gootubers are. Askjapan is actually married.  The only single female gootuber lions are aware of is the trans one: Fran Blanche

The others are either polyamorous or younger.

Single male gootubers abound: shango66, Ben Heck, Big Clive, LGR

But 90% of gootubers are male.  As for percentages, definitely plausible that not just 40% but an overwhelming majority of men are going to be lifetime bachelors in the future.  Lions believe men are genetically adapted to being alone & being breadwinners.  

The single male gootubers are nowhere close to askjapan, don't seem all that unhappy & they seem to get happier being alone as they age.  Women who are alone are very unhappy, in comparison.  It seems to be a genetic adaptation to depending on others to survive.

Askjapan might pique a lot of the internet's attention because they really are 50 year old men struggling to get by, but he's probably nowhere near what he says he his.  Sounds like he's going to flip his house  for a lot of money & retire by 60.  His day job is paying a lot more than he says & the monthly payment is nowhere near his investment income.  The japanese lions knew 20 years ago seemed better off than amerikans.

It's not  a midlife crisis he's suffering but a marriage crisis.  Lions would call him techlead for sales.

 Most animals think of the prime real estate being the Jedi getaway down by the shore, but the real views are from the hills.  That could justify a full time VR simulation.  It can't be done with manual modeling or photogrammetry.  Generative AI should be at the point of being able to fill in all the details of a 3D space like this but so far, we're just seeing 2D context awareness.

 What lions think is happening is index funds are earning interest on large treasury positions.  They're putting the interest into stonks to manetain a constant allocation.  It's not millennials pouring money in the stonk market expecting lower interest rates.  Anyways, the next idea was revising the GUI to get rid of the drop shadows, decorations.  The modern trend is flat colors, but the trends have to change every 6 months for these corporations to stay in business. 1 idea that looked good was an apply button in the file dialog which would allow loading files from a bunch of directories or picking 1 file at a time without closing the window.  The trick is most files require building an index.  The file dialog would have to be frozen during the load process or it would have to be locked out of loading again.  It would be a functional but unpleasant experience. The biggest win right now would be repositioning the plugins to the top when there isn't an asset.
