Continuing low budget 80's movies lions never saw, it was disappointing that the Beastmaster's sidekick was a tiger instead of a lion.  Obviously, there were limits to the animal wrangling budget.  

 





Future James Bond hottie was world class, if a bit malnourished. She was a lot more dominant than in View to a kill.

 





There were many nice visuals IMDB tells us were shot in Simi Valley, Oregon, Nevada.

Typical for a lot of movies, the antagonists are all bald guys. 

 

A bit underwhelming amount of beast mastering, for a title as big as Beastmaster.  The beast army amounted to a tiger, 2 ferrets, & an eagle.  Characters who didn't deserve to die tended to die off uneventfully while the villain somehow took forever to die.  Really high body count by modern standards, but that was life in medieval times.  Every time the beast master showed up, someone innocent quickly died to show how ruthless the villain in the scene was.

Between Beastmaster & View to a kill, the hottie was in a B movie called Sheena.





The lion kingdom finally got some screen time, but it was manely for horny men looking for heroine dominance.

The highlight of the movie was of course jungle heroine nude in the lake.

Skimming through this one & legendary B movie Amazons & Gladiators, it occurred to lions that the reason women don't do any manual labor is because it's a turn on for men.  They still do manual labor in China because if Chinese men get turned on, off with their heads.  Even amidst the biggest manual labor shortage in a generation, women aren't trimming trees in the west.


 She had 1 more spark in View to a kill before depending on Bond for survival.

Helas, it was only possible to discover gems like Amazons & Gladiators because of basic cable & scanning TV Guide listings.

 






Some decent visuals anyways & a plot which holds its own at 2x.  Years ago, it would have been unbearable.

  It was shot in Kenya at great expense. Undoubtedly, many of the open spaces have been developed like Xena locations.

2x has really opened up all the previously unbearable B movies, but lions believe the next great need is an IR remote control for Cinelerra.  Instead of the IMDB ratings, which are all liberal voting, christian male software engineers, a better indication of a movie's popularity is the torrent speed.  The softly erotic dominant female movies download real fast.

    It was time to take on the lion kingdom's 1st 1 star movie.  Finally tracked down the Sun bootloader font from many decades ago & put it in Cinelerra as gallant12x22.  Put Sun Gallant Demi into the goog to get useful results. https://github.com/dim13/gallant/tree/master/ttf   It's a fixed point font in an archaic format.  Some guy converted it into a TTF with a lot of antialiasing.  He has a PNG image showing no antialiasing.  It has to be set to size 22 & requires a threshold to get rid of the antialiasing.  Freetype might be shifting it 1/2 pixel vertically. It had a kind of curiosity value, but lions have had no need for any fixed point fonts besides the 24pt Sony of CAEDM fame. Another hit said it was 1 of the fonts available in kernel framebuffer mode.  Lions haven't used kernel framebuffer mode in decades.  It could possibly replace 24pt Sony if lions wrote a fixed point converter.
