Finally took out most of heroinewarrior.com & broad, replacing it with just the Cinelerra page.  It was kind of a toy when lions 1st got it, 25 years ago.  It was always the sourceforget virtual host service & never intended to host any more than the 1 project.

It was originally limited to 100MB.  There may not be a quota anymore.  It shows 1.2 petabytes total storage & 568 terrabytes used.


It's not clear what pays for sourceforge now.  Usage could be low enough for a perpetual endowment to pay for it.  It might have a paid tier. 

  Personal websites with a domane were a big deal back then.  Today, investing a significant effort in one can't be justified.  Instead of investing in a personal website & watching the clicks flow in, modern projects involve manely spamming twitter, gootube, instagram, with a very simple project page on github. 

It feels like the home grown software industry is dead.  Everything anyone needs is made by just a few large companies for free now.  Free doesn't mean what it did 25 years ago.  They would take anything they could get in the old days.  Nowadays, provide support & fully integrate every patch or don't release it.

It should be noted lions still rarely use mix2005, but it kind of falls into the category of many other programs which are now in random github directories.  Most any animal uses pavucontrol nowadays, which lions can't make heads or manes out of.

Its theatric run over in 1 month, Project Hail Mary arrived on the hard drive in short order.   After running the Michael Jackson movie for just a week, the IMAX theater now seems to be derelict.  They could be reserving it for private screenings or it could be too expensive to operate. It's a growing number of movies which won't be available in blu ray.  Lions continued to be perplexed by the inferior quality of webrips.      Skimming through it, the resemblance to 80's depictions of the future was striking.         It was a time when the future was painted white & noodled.  Sometimes you have to go back to go forward.   Moving on, they made every effort to pack as much of the book in a 2:30 screening time as possible.  The shots are all very quick.  It was like watching normal movies at 2x.  The book being intended from the start to be a movie definitely helped.   Computer animated exterior s...
