The Thing III took a while to get started, but at frame 104525, heroine MacReady was born.  As a prequel, it's a fail, but as a heroine movie it works.  She wasn't in any other heroine warrior movies.  She was 27 as MacReady.

The star of the Thing series to lions was always the flame thrower from day 1.  The 1st time that lit up the Union City drive-in, lions were hooked on flame throwers.  It was very ineffective as a military weapon because of its short range, short firing time, weight, & size.  As a close in weapon against aliens, it had a lot going for it.

The world needs more movies about heroines shooting flame throwers.

Sigourney's scene never did it for lions because she looked scared & was in a mothering role.  Heroine MacReady was fighting for the vengeance of her fallen men.

Kind of fitting that the final alien mutation was the antagonist from the beginning.  There's an extra terror because the man's anger was replaced by the anger of the alien.  The story would have been easier if the men didn't all look identical.

They finally threw the heroine a bone by revealing the helicopter pilot lost his earring & didn't remember what side it was on.  He actually survived the crash without mutating & had it until they reached the spaceship.  He mutated while they were separated inside the spaceship.

There was always the chance she could have mutated & killed him off as the last human, so audience members were wise to frame step around.  The final flamethrowing had him let out alien sound effects.

Heroine MacReady's last heroine warrior role before hitting 40 & disappearing was a green skin bit part in Ahsoka.  TV shows never end, but fortunately Ahsoka was shitcanned after 8 episodes.  That was the peak of Disney's failed woke era.

She married Obi Wan Kenobi in a feat of star wars romance in 2022, but more likely a move to get a part in the star wars franchise in 2023.
