Body rang the register after 9x200.  Got it through another 4 with longer breaks but only 4.  The heat combined with the tendon did it.  Pleasantly surprised by a roughly 8 minute mile in the uphill but the heat definitely reduced the output.  The battery was truly puffed. Noted how clean the altitude graph was.  Normally get a choppy area under the cage.    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------    There it is. Withdrawal & declarations of victory on both sides secured, as predicted.  It was really the only possible outcome, after achieving nothing but burning a few billion doll hairs, losing hundreds of lives, & destroying all the F-14's.  Hopefully the powers that be got a good deal on their oil shares.  Good luck to the ancestors of Greenspun still fighting to survive in the holyland & the Iranian athletes getting executed by the Aya...

Certificate chain of trust is 1 of those things which is conceptually simple but difficult in implementation.  The idea of private keys encrypting public keys & whose key is encrypting whose key seems to be the biggest pitfall. The general idea is the browser has the public keys of just the root CA's & the public keys are being used to decrypt data encrypted with private keys.  Traditionally, we envision public keys encrypting data to be decrypted with private keys.   A website provides the encrypted form of the certificates of all the root & intermediate CA's used to create its certificate, along with its own encrypted certificate.  A certificate contains the public key of the machine + a hash of meta data describing the machine.  It has to be signed.  Only a CA can sign a certificate.   When something is signed, it's being encrypted with a private key.  When a certificate is signed, a CA encrypts a public ...

Lately began encountering problems when pasting media from different projects with different samplerates or framerates.  This was the most widespread case of the problem in the last 30 years.  It seemed to be from a period of heightened music editing.  Paste audio from a timeline with a lower samplerate to a timeline with a higher samplerate: inserting adds silence after the new data.  Paste audio from a timeline with a higher samplerate to a timeline with a lower samplerate: inserting works properly. If the operation contains video & audio, the tracks behave the same based on differences in their respective rates.  The paste logic is replicated everywhere, keyframes, edits, file loads. For now, it resamples the ingested EDL  in MWindow::paste_edls by calling new_edl->resample().  This previously didn't update the ingested EDL's sample rate, which broke later calls to track->get_length().  Now it does update the sample rate after t...

The tax code ever multiplies in complexity.  Where 401k catchup contribution was previously defined only by age, it now is defined by age & income.  Over 150k puts you into a roth 401k after $24500.  The lion kingdom, making below average income, will encounter the limit in 2 more pay periods.  Most everyone else in the bay area has already encountered it. Betterment only allows defining fixed percentages to contribute to the roth & traditional in every pay period while the tax code only defines specific dollar amounts to contribute in the entire year.  After the next pay period, the lion kingdom would have to change the setting to 55.56% in the roth 401k & 44.44% in the traditional 401k.  In 2 pay periods, it would have to be changed to 100% roth to keep a 401k rounding error from going over the limit.  Then, presumably betterment would cap the roth so the total of the 2 didn't exceed $32,500.  The settings would have to hit right bet...

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/netflix-pay-much-600-million-194011342.html   Who still hasn't written hello world, branded the program as an AI company & sold it for $600M?  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------    Another day of 400m repeats, followed by some 200m repeats until the tendon exploded.  Lions will never be as fast as they were 10 years ago.  Manetaining a 7 minute pace beyond 400m is now just about impossible when it used to go for 3 miles.  It's definitely easier to start on the bridge & go downhill for the 1st repeat.  The nose cone was off so it wasn't quite as fast for the 200's.  Lions reduced the vitamin C to 1g/day around December.  This subjectively resulted in slower recovery.  The mane problem with 2g/day was the odor.  Since then, there has been an occasional uptake of an extra 1g after a hard workout.  This has ...

Good news for those of us dreaming of synthesizing choc in space. https://www.foodandwine.com/hershey-products-no-longer-use-milk-chocolate-11911049  Synthesizing choc in space many never be possible because cocoa requires trees, but apparently synthetic choc exists. It seems though the palm oil & shea oil used in choc substitute still require trees. Either the smell of wood or the structure of wood is coming from a key ingredient in choc.    The smell of wood is from pure Carbon benzene compounds rather than any particular element. Palm oil is the dominant form of vegetable oil in the world & it's quite difficult to produce in space.  https://apnews.com/article/west-africa-cocoa-farmers-ghana-chocolate-crash-dfd5acb32de1e9b52a92329d1045d970  Another story had a choc crash. The Mane can get on top of that.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------     50 year old George Lucas & his powe...

The Iran war is the 1st big one in a time when most content is AI generated & there are no reporters in the field.  Most of the coverage is generated imagery or real footage from past wars being recycled.  There's no manestream media coverage. Another missing bit is the lack of any footage of damage. After the flood of AI generated clickbait of explosions that never happened came the familiar refrane of weapons of mass destruction.  At least it seemed more plausible this time, since Iran's nuclear reactor development was previously in the news for years. This time, there was no buildup or announcement of a case like there was in 2001.  The only buildup was somewhat of another Iranian revolution taking shape, but not likely to last.    Things weren't going so well for any digital nomads still in Dubai as it was getting destroyed by the counter attacks.  There were stories about foreigners trapped & spending everything they had to get out, ...

https://growmane.blogspot.com/2021/11/who-heroines-years-are-showing-but-doge.html   5 years later & it's another suck of the navigator sav.  Lots of 2x through useless dialog this time. Surprised how the Sarah Jessicah Parker dialog & the obligatory time travel quips now just fall on the floor.    The 1 kid who wanted to defund NASA for the rest of his life.    Houses doubled since the last viewing, so any footage of that thing now got a lot more attention.  No way anyone's getting those views nowadays.  Even executives & sports stars are out of the loop.  They can only afford those for rental property income.    The remodeling between the 2 time periods was a lot niftier.   Pretty much what lions remember about the abundance of houses under $500k in Fl*rida before Bernanke.  Sub $500k was the upper limit for the longest time, then the helicopter drop policy began.    It was completely rebuilt on 1 s...
