The Iran war is the 1st big one in a time when most content is AI generated & there are no reporters in the field. Most of the coverage is generated imagery or real footage from past wars being recycled. There's no manestream media coverage. Another missing bit is the lack of any footage of damage.
After the flood of AI generated clickbait of explosions that never happened came the familiar refrane of weapons of mass destruction. At least it seemed more plausible this time, since Iran's nuclear reactor development was previously in the news for years.
This time, there was no buildup or announcement of a case like there was in 2001. The only buildup was somewhat of another Iranian revolution taking shape, but not likely to last.
Things weren't going so well for any digital nomads still in Dubai as it was getting destroyed by the counter attacks. There were stories about foreigners trapped & spending everything they had to get out, but no real images.
Iran had a significant insurgent drone military after the head was cut off. It was the 1st time an enemy was able to cripple US after the 1st strike. They might have also had Chinese reinforcements.
The mane evidence that this one was generated was all the junk on the roofs, but it does match some of the skyline in Tel Aviv. Wouldn't know what Iran was aiming at. The packed towers resemble all the new houses being built in Calif*. They're all 3 story towers. Lions couldn't rationally burn $1M on those, just for the chance of getting rich.
Surprised Iran was able to shut down all transport through the straight of Hormuz. The improvised drone is the IED of the 2020's. The internet says US is defenseless against the ID because it's based on destroying the head. The problem is the improvised drones have no head.
Iran is a lot more capable than Iraq was. They can print Ayatollahs faster than US prints money & they have unlimited imports from Russia. There isn't going to be anything close to a victory. A rapid withdrawal & claim of significantly weakening the regime would be a smart move. Israel would have already overthrown Iran if they could have.
The situation with double digit gas & the forever war is the next chapter of 1976 repeating.
Uncle Jay is printing like mad to pay for the war. They're hoping for a quick end so inflation can be suppressed in the long term average, kept down to a 1 time event.
There's a pattern in the last 40 years of throwing everything they have at a few days of bombings & hoping for a surrender or a quick victory. It wasn't like that in Vietnam or Korea, where a slow buildup lasted decades. Despite the hope, the quick victories never happen.
The reason for the new quest for 1 day wars seems to be the lack of money to afford more than a day of combat. The cost of survivable equipment has gotten so high, it's like the escalation of armor in the middle ages. Like the middle ages, US spends millions per bullet to fight an unlimited supply of improvised drones.
For Israel, population 10 million, to have funded constant war with all its neighbors for the last 100 years, they must be entirely subsidized by US.

Then there were these shots of F-14's appearing to be alive & well on active taxi ways, 45 years later. Most important to lions, the 2 in the upper left weren't there after the airstrike. They moved under their own power. The engagement economy was too brain dead for anyone to notice.
There are no photos of a flying Iranian F-14 in recent memory. Only Iranian state media provided a photo in 2013 of unknown origin.
It makes lions ponder how many were cannibalized for parts after 45 years, what was still working & what was being flown despite being inoperative. They seemed to have maybe 2 gold platers made from the parts of all the others. From agentjayz, the compressor & turbine blades seem to be the limiting factors. 1 FOD event & the compressor blades are gone. 1 over temperature event & the turbine blades are gone. They could have flown the 2 gold platers very gingerly, for publicity events.

With nothing planned until 2027, lions took another stab at the NY marathon. There was only a 1 in 1000 chance of getting in. 2027 is Utah again. 2028 is probably LA. Undecided about how much to train. A weekly marathon didn't make lions any faster.
