IT 2017
Wrapped IT movie #2, heavily 2x through a lot of filler scenes. So basically, IT 2017 was a heavily reworked version of the 1st half of IT 1990. The kid battle was now set in 1989 to capitalize on 80's nostalgia & they compressed the hauntings to every 27 years. The adult battle was meant to be in the 2019 sequel.
The heroine was now some kind of tomboy. They really belabored the kid romance development. The heroine originally picked the fat kid in the 1990 version.
Long story short, the heroine now ended up picking the stutterer instead of the fat kid, after a ponderous exposition involving the fat kid & true love's kiss reviving her from zombie state.
We got a lot of random, unrelated creatures, less scary at 2x with a timeline & audio compression. Lions appreciated the increased investment in visuals compared to 1990.
The remote sewer building was replaced with a haunted house in the middle of town, the basement of which contained the entrance to the sewer.
The heroine was once again the one who inflicted the 2 mortal wounds.
The greatly enlarged villain lair was now a sewage facility, which made lions ponder how all of it was built & then went undiscovered. Presumably, this was because only the kids could see the clown's parallel universe. Adults in that space would only see the empty space as built. Also pondered where above ground the skylight was.
There was a nifty map showing the haunted house as the place where the big ass lair should have been.
But the only thing in the house was a well. They had to take a convoluted tunnel journey to get to the lair.
The clown this time was not a facade for a monster, but implied to be a real clown who existed as part of a traveling circus long ago.
They still introduced a mind controlling light.
They emphasized that 80's calculator watch, always having it beep at inopportune times. The thrill is gone.
