Should pay more attention to the city center concert series.  They had some big names this year instead of the usual cover bands.  David Benoit was there.  Lions played the living daylights out of his xmas album & wrote a program to try to transcribe his recording of xmas time is here. 

After the last performance, 74 year old Lee Ritenour, saw a really serious looking, black guitar player coming off stage.  They used 1 of the many empty stores as a dressing room.  He had 2 really huge, super shiny guitars with really huge tuning pegs.  He was the bass guitarist.

The lion kingdom's piano felt really small.  It made lions ponder being a backup musician for a big name like that.  It was 1 of many ponderings of being part of a show.  Lions would be lucky to still play anything at 74.

 Lions locked in on a semi successful blower speed controller, starting on June 20 & manely ending on Jul 25.  Lessons were learned.  More money was spent than the cost of the blower.  The cost of getting it right would bring it to 2x the cost of the blower.  Thoughts turned to developing a custom blower around a lower voltage motor.

 Then Cinelerra presented a need to search for an asset inside a timeline.  It was manely for audio playlists & also rarely needed.  It wouldn't be good enough to go to the 1st instance.  It would also need to go to the next & previous instance with g & shift+G, with find & "find again" menu options.  Modern programs have a persistent search popup, but lions believe nedit's quiet interface was ideal.

Its theatric run over in 1 month, Project Hail Mary arrived on the hard drive in short order.   After running the Michael Jackson movie for just a week, the IMAX theater now seems to be derelict.  They could be reserving it for private screenings or it could be too expensive to operate. It's a growing number of movies which won't be available in blu ray.  Lions continued to be perplexed by the inferior quality of webrips.      Skimming through it, the resemblance to 80's depictions of the future was striking.         It was a time when the future was painted white & noodled.  Sometimes you have to go back to go forward.   Moving on, they made every effort to pack as much of the book in a 2:30 screening time as possible.  The shots are all very quick.  It was like watching normal movies at 2x.  The book being intended from the start to be a movie definitely helped.   Computer animated exterior s...

   Amusing that Grok applied an IPv6 style pseudo header to the computation of an IPv4 ping packet, even though IPv4 doesn't use the pseudo header.       Another Grok error was in a basic TCP demonstrator.  To avoid a TIMED_WAIT on the server blocking the port, you have to exit the server without closing the socket.   These errors take a lot more time to track down than doing it the old way.  It might be fixed in paid versions of Grok.
