Silver bullet

 Surprised to find IMDB had the audio as mono.  Tried downloading a bunch of alternates to try to get stereo.  1 thing they're not doing with AI restoration is converting mono to stereo or converting 2D to 3D.  You could probably do the audio with generative separation of the voice, music & sound effects.  The music could be fixed with separation of the different instruments & delays.  Helas, generative separation always sounded like shit.

There's just no money to be made in restoring a movie anymore.

 Lions remembered Silver Bullet as a confusing, boring movie that they saw many times in the 80's, either because the parents did, because of the catchy title, or in vein attempts to figure it out.  That memory presented it as another cozy escape.

20 minutes in, nostalgia was complete & it was up to 2x.  The contrived conflicts & canned dialog were as bad as remembered.  Lions remembered absolutely nothing until the great hunt for a 1 eyed man, at 58 minutes.

 

 The hunt for the 1 eyed man was a really terrifying scene.  For such a boring movie, that was the 1 scene lions remembered vividly.  The reveals of each character didn't give any clues as to when it would hit & what the missing eye would look like.  Lions feared guys with eye patches ever since then.

 

Of course any sinister minister is particularly scary.  Bad guys wear black & shave.

 

 

Noted a resemblance to Biff, but no.  Biff was not a hero uncle in another life.
 

The mane point of confusion to young lion  was whether the title referred to the hero wheelchair or the bullet, which was only used once.  Then rediscovered there were actually 2 wheelchairs named silver bullet.  Why did they name 2 wheelchairs the silver bullet instead of the upgraded one?

 Young lion thought the wheelchair played some role in killing the werewolf.  Was he going to chase the werewolf or ram the werewolf?  In fact, it was just a titillating detail.

 

 

 They would have been electric as early as 1995.  An electric wheelchair was pretty schmick in 1985.  Otherwise, any powered wheelchair would have been improvised as shown.

It's much rarer to see anyone in a wheelchair because of a lifetime disability than it was 40 years ago.  They're much more commonly in a scooter now & because of obesity or age induced arthritis.  It might be because the original group can't afford to live in Calif* anymore.

 

The 16 year old heroine didn't start out at her best.  Noted the conservative clothing & was reminded of the conservative heroine costume in Labyrinth.  Young lion was put off by the heroine, especially the condescending way she delivered the "this blue" line.  That just fell on the floor & wiggled.  She was mind numbingly clueless for a kid role.  Only the adults are supposed to be clueless.

 That was the 1st time lions pondered if girls really dressed that conservatively, 40 years ago.  Never noticed, but did know from less savory memories that they did wear skirts.

Lions today aren't exposed at all to what girls wear & don't wear contacts. They're not on the internet.  

 

 

She came unto her own, as the bodies piled up & the mane got tied up. Helas, it was the boy who fired the gun.

 

There was a lot of implication that his disability would make her the one to kill the werewolf, but it was never used for anything but contrived friction.

 

Newly discovered irony in the jesus bumper stickers on the murder weapon. 

 

Not the last jesus bumper sticker on junk vehicle of movie lore (terminator 2), though they seemed to die off in the last 30 years as movie cars got more upscale.

 

Steven King bullets: old working class guy & father who always wore a suit.  Not sure how the formalwear father became a horror movie device, but it might have conveyed a cold, soulless figure.

 

Most notably remembered in Dreamscape.  Young lion definitely had somewhat of a correlation between suits & fathers in the 80's.
