The Biopolymer Research for In-Situ Capabilities on SpaceX CRS 25 is intriguing because it resembles the same 3D printed junk we all create in our tiny apartments.





This 3D printed gadget of apartment lore mixes bovine serum albumin from Earth with silica found on other planets to make cylindrical bricks of 1/2 the strength of portland cement.  Bovine serum albumin is the nutrient broth from microbiology class.  The intriguing part is how they directly attach servo shafts to the mechanisms.  The servos activate 2 pinch valves once per day.  There's nothing more specific than the pinch valves introducing humidity.


The adafruit boards merely detect humidity.  The humidity is needed to know when the bricks are dry.
