This has somehow become the signature song of the 80's.  It 1st appeared in a movie in Pirates of Silicon Valley, then it was in Ready Player One, then Retro Guy used it in his retro bedroom vijeo, then Casey Neistat used it in his Vision Pro mashup.

Lions only remember when it came out, thinking everything in Robotech was real or it could be real.  Southern Cross 1st aired during that time.  It still conjures up the gadgets in Robotech.  The difference between fiction & reality wasn't quite discovered yet, but maybe it was the way Robotech was produced in a non fictional style.

It's generally accepted that the government started firehosing treasuries at the stonk market right after the debt ceiling circus.  To keep the wheels greased, the fed obviously had an incentive to back up the quantitative tightening.

The media declared the beginning of the next bull market to be last October.  The lion kingdom's positions back then are definitely outperforming cash, but stongs are still behind cash in the long term.

Lions are still seeing food inflation exploding, but it all depends on what areas of declines the government can trade those against. Food inflation can be infinite as long as productivity somewhere else is infinite.

Assuming the next bull market is sticking rather than being transitory, the lion kingdom can only make excuses why it's not 100% invested in stongs as recommended by most analysts nowadays.  The lion kingdom's mane rebuttal is the Nikkei 225, a collapse which didn't rebound in anyone's lifetime.  If not a collapse like that, a sideways market lasting longer than anyone's lifetime would not be unprecedented.  The sideways market of 2000-2010 was a period many animals would not outlive.

The other big problem is if you're always taking money out, it's not going to grow at the historic 10% rate.  When it's down, you're taking principal away from the next time it goes up.  Those are much more expensive distributions than when it's up.  Maybe the booms could be enough to replace the loss of principal in the busts.  Maybe not.

The traditional advice was always to diversify & lions stuck to that. Lions will take money out of the cash positions until the stonk positions become 100%. Since the cash positions are going 1st, those are in taxable accounts.

Diversification means it takes a lot more capital to get the kinds of returns that being 100% invested could give. Helas, this means it took a lot longer for lions to build up a portfolio than other animals.
