The lion kingdom started catching up more with generation X by watching the Knight Rider pilot. With the average TV show, the pilot is the only episode worth watching. The rest are all trash.
There's always some intrigue over how the mane character is inducted into his new role. The only thing really novel in that show was the car moving without a driver & the dashboard. Even today, no-one actually uses the summon feature on a Tesla.
The idea occurred to the lion kingdom of instead of a monolithic 2000 sq ft lion cave, building a tiny 500-1000 sq ft cottage with just a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, & maybe a living room. Then build a separate 2000 sq ft concert hall/shop in a different building, a garage in a different building, & maybe a 1000 sq ft storage area in another building.
The trick with this approach is it grows as you can afford to pay. The cottage could be built to tornado standards & would be the staging area for building the other buildings. The other buildings could be built with gable roofs. The mane disadvantage is not being able to share the facilities of the cottage with the concert hall. The concert hall would need its own bathroom so that's 2 bathrooms for a single lion living alone. Of course, the concert hall could hold an audience without having them in the living space.
1 disadvantage is the kitchen & living room would no longer be part of the hall of mirrors. Just the concert hall would be like the hall of mirrors.
The HFAC room was 2000-2268 sq ft. Suspect the angled sections reduced it to 2000. That would definitely not be a hall of mirrors.
Then, it loses the appeal of the Tomb Raider castle having everything under 1 roof. The big question is whether it's more practical to have everything under 1 roof or in separate buildings. Maybe the concert hall can be an addition to the cottage. The HFAC had everything under 1 roof.
The problem with a monolithic building is each space can't have many windows & some spaces need to have no windows. The Tomb Raider castle had no windows in its shop, since it was surrounded on all sides by living spaces & other rooms. The more buildings, the more windows. Lions prefer being connected to the outside world than in a cocoon. That motivated making the garage a separate building.
The HFAC lobby would be a closer rendition of the hall of mirrors, but just the center opening without the walkways or entrances was 6800 sq ft. The original hall of mirrors is 8000 sq ft.
Lions never pondered recreating the HFAC concert hall. They hardly ever went in there & it would not be a very useful space.
The cottage idea might impact the idea of a listening space with traditional speakers. Lions probably won't have their hearing anymore. Another idea years ago was a very large monitor which the lion would sit in the middle of. That & VR computing could change the living space needs.
Lions might spend most of their time in the shop/concert hall, making the living room just storage or useless. The shop would have any sound system & computer.
The mane problem is lions eat in the shop. Lions don't separate their tasks & a single lion living alone doesn't need partitioned rooms. Separating the kitchen would be hard. It's almost like everything has to be a single room in the living space. For tornado resistance, there just has to be a bunker.
Multiple buildings definitely have the cheapest barrier to entry, but a single building would be the cheapest solution in total.
