Transformers 1986

Finally got around to watching the HD copy of Transformers 1986.
The cropped movie theater print wasn't that bad. This was, after all, what audiences saw in the cinedome 7 for $7.
Lions hit it with unsharp. It would have been difficult to unsharp the DVD in realtime, in 2004. That made it look as crisp as something shot today. Colors were still a bit more yellow than 40 years ago.
Some scenes were out of focus even in HD. The A animation tended to be the more crusty print.
Surprised by the scratches in the unicron explosion. That was 12fps with clonable material.
There's no escaping the feeling of looking through a straw, for someone who watched 4:3 many times. Young lion pondered how anyone knew what button to press in those cartoons. 40 years later, most lion interfaces have minimal to no labels. Now lions see the absurdity of robots typing on keyboards instead of RF. Animating that burned through the budget.
Like all movies with just voiceovers, they packed in a lot of stars. Leonard Nimoy, Casey Kasem, Scatman Crothers, Orson Welles, & of course the mighty Peter Cullen. Not so essential nowadays to get the real thing for a private event.
A lot of incidental music not in the soundtrack of the last 20 years came back around 48:10. There was a lot of TV show ambience we took for granted in those days, but which has been scrubbed from the modern compilations. TV show ambience was kind of lame & the modern 80's are just the good parts of the 80's. Those sounds make lions feel lonely for some reason.

50 is a growing pile of veins. After nothing but improving in its 1st 30 years, it's hard to believe the lion body is going to shrivel into a prune in its next 30 years. It's all rather programmed & arbitrary feeling.

Been going all out for the 22 milers, to simulate longer runs. The truck lights were completely out, so this one was finished with the phone light. Tried 1 clif blok block per quarter mile near the end. It showed promise. Next long run is probably going to be a walnut crusher to further test nutrition strategies.
The carbo loading was cheeze its for lunch & doritos for dinner. The night before was pasta. Farted a lot but did not have to go. Old battery didn't die.
Despite this intensity, there hasn't been any difference in total time whether starting at 8:30/mile or 9/mile. It's probably the diet now. Lions would need some kind of expensive carnivore or produce diet.
