Into the wild came up on the goog's recommentations & has historically come up on the off grid tubes so it was time for some fast forwarding.  The real bus was airlifted out in 2020 because too many animals killed themselves trying to reach it.  It's fascinating that the original Chris McCandless reached it through aimless wandering, only to die of starvation, while so many animals died just trying to reach it.

The last photo of him before death.

The last route he took.  Everyone dies crossing the Teklanika river, but he managed to get across in April.  He made it roughly 18 miles from the trailhead, maybe 26 miles from civilization.  In lion minds, hardly an escape from civilization at all.

The most interesting shot of the movie was the power of 10 pullback from his composited head in the real bus to a wide shot of the real bus.

The 2 hours of aimless wandering, garbage filled hippie camps,

hippies trying to sell junk for survival, reminded lions of Nomadland.  The 2 movies had opposing views of the lifestyle.  Wild romanticised it.  Nomadland 13 years later blamed it on the declining standard of living, to be avoided at all costs through more entitlements.

According to kiwipedia, the hero's father was polyamorous before Elon made it cool.  He fathered children with his 1st wife after his 2nd wife entered the chat.

As romanticized & free spirited as runaway hippies are portrayed, they're not really free at all.  They depend on the un free others in the system & live off an illusion.  Modern lions could only stand the illusion at 1.5x to 2x.

Finally finished Trouble is my Business

There are bad valkyries & good valkyries it seems.

The valkyrie was such a hottie in 2 episodes of Xena, she continued to intrigue.  She finally made it into a B movie in 2018, at the same time lions rewatched their entire Xena anthology, sans the Hercules episodes.

She was a hottie no more by 2018.  Bad audio & bad lighting abounded, limiting the fast forwarding to 1.5x & taking a lot of histogramming.  Some of those scenes still needed 2x.  The amount of unity sets made lions appreciate the difficulty in building real sets & permitting real locations.

She was easier on the eyes as a brunette alter ego.  Lions suspected the 2 characters were the same.

Helas, so much was a bunch of tired old plot devices & tired old characters, the payoff was no more exciting than all the other twin personality movies.

Still surprising how gootube run & gun style movies are ending up pretty good while formally produced independent movies are still ending up as bad as they were 40 years ago.  They're 2 different processes trying to basically tell a story, yet 1 process achieves better results.

The top run & gunners are constantly working.  Film school graduates might make 1 movie, ever.  That seems to be the biggest factor.  1 group settles for whatever their budget allows.  The other group waits for the perfect budget to align.

It makes lions wonder if the same applies to gadgets.  Is someone who constantly makes gadgets alone & settles for their budgetary limitations going to be better than someone who constantly studies for interviews & makes maybe 1 fully funded gadget for a corporation?

More of Ross Guy's lion cave is revealed. He's got a double recliner.  It's still really spartan for a millennial whose dating.  The zestimate is down to $750k.

His $600k Round Rock mansion from 2022 was still the duck's guts in lion minds.  It was a lot newer & seemed to be walkable.  He stopped making downtown walking videos after moving.  He must have solely wanted privacy.
