A midnight clear grew in popularity since lions obtained a low quality copy on May 13, 2020.   There eventually was a high quality copy.  The reason seems to be the brief remote work era & increased interest in chateaus. 

 



 

 

 



 

Fortunately, the set was built in Park City UT so you don't really need to go to France to own a chateau.   Only 3 sides were built.  The internet now names White Pine Canyon as the shooting location.

In reality, Chopin lived in a chateau in Nohant.  It still looks manely like it did in the 1840's, paths designed for horses instead of cars, ancient stucco, ancient roofs.

 


 George Sand was not rich.  She inherited the chateau.  It was a complex of many buildings.





George planted 2 cedar trees in 1823-1828 which are still prominently in the grove behind the house. Most of the Chopin relics were obliterated after they split up.

The Pleyel grand was theoretically in Chopin's bedroom. The bedroom supposedly still contains panels & a floor George installed to muffle Chopin's practicing.

The mental hospital padding of the double door is visible in this shot.  Also, we have the wooden floor & wall panels.  The room or part of it was obliterated after they split up.  1/2 was turned into a library.

  Some say the floorboards were ripped out.


It's possible there was another floor on top of what is now visible or only the floorboards in the library were ripped out.

The dearth of any coverage of Chopin's room shows how the internet has focused on just a few money making formulas.

Lions always envisioned a great composer in a chateau having a large music room, but Chopin's room was a downright sandwich between a lot of other rooms filled with guests.

    It was time to take on the lion kingdom's 1st 1 star movie.  Finally tracked down the Sun bootloader font from many decades ago & put it in Cinelerra as gallant12x22.  Put Sun Gallant Demi into the goog to get useful results. https://github.com/dim13/gallant/tree/master/ttf   It's a fixed point font in an archaic format.  Some guy converted it into a TTF with a lot of antialiasing.  He has a PNG image showing no antialiasing.  It has to be set to size 22 & requires a threshold to get rid of the antialiasing.  Freetype might be shifting it 1/2 pixel vertically. It had a kind of curiosity value, but lions have had no need for any fixed point fonts besides the 24pt Sony of CAEDM fame. Another hit said it was 1 of the fonts available in kernel framebuffer mode.  Lions haven't used kernel framebuffer mode in decades.  It could possibly replace 24pt Sony if lions wrote a fixed point converter.    Amusing that Grok applied an IPv6 style pseudo header to the computation of an IPv4 ping packet, even though IPv4 doesn't use the pseudo header.       Another Grok error was in a basic TCP demonstrator.  To avoid a TIMED_WAIT on the server blocking the port, you have to exit the server without closing the socket.   These errors take a lot more time to track down than doing it the old way.  It might be fixed in paid versions of Grok.
