Lions always assumed the father in Cats In The Cradle-Harry Chapin ended up never having any contact with his son, ever since 1st discovering the lyrics in 2016. It was 1 of those 1st songs lions heard over & over on AM radio without ever noticing the lyrics.
Finally reviewed the abundant documentation on it & the internet assured us the father did have contact with the son but it represented the growing latchkey kid movement of the 1970's, what became normal in the 80's. It's certainly normal in a divorce for the father to disappear completely.
The Cats In The Cradle chorus was intended to keep it from becoming too depressing. Young lion thought it was 2 gangsters saying "we'll get together then, man".
It made lions ponder whether staying out west just to get the rule of 55 might be too greedy, especially if they hit the bingo point. The rule of 55 would provide only 4 years of lower taxes & won't amount to that much money. The 11 years from 59-70 are where most of the roth conversions & taxes are paid. If lions had the same job until 55, while working remotely, it would be the best of the rule of 55 & not having to stay out west.
The bingo point probably won't happen until 55. The law of averages is a buster. It can roar ahead & then go sideways for 5 years while bonds roar ahead. It's tempting to burn through the forever stonk positions at the same rate as the bond positions but the government has no incentive to fight inflation. The fed funds rate hasn't been higher than inflation in 26 years.

It made lions ponder the implications of being the only surviving descendant & having no family. Lions don't expect to continue working by that point, partly because there won't be anyone to see it.
Most men live out their lives without ever getting a yes. Big Clive, LGR, AgentJayZ, MikesElectricStuff, Technology Connections, Saveitforparts are all gootubers who have no family of their own & live alone. Most influencers are single & male.
They do have siblings from the same parents while lions don't. Reproduction rates evolved so the number of men after dying off in wars would match the number of women. With less dying in wars, the numbers haven't favored most men finding partners in a long time.
The men outnumbered women by a great margin in silicon valley so if they didn't bring someone from elsewhere or move out, they normally lived out their lives alone. The competition was polyamorous & rich, so multiple women were banging the same guys while everyone else was getting told off.
A better business model than a dating service would be a coping service. A lot of men mathematically have to live out their lives without getting a yes. It's not the failure it was 100 years ago & the matches aren't ideal because it's an imperfect social order based on incomplete information.
The guys who got a yes had to spend millions to do it. Getting a 10 entailed owning a house. No fault, winner take all divorce requires hitting home runs or losing everything. It would have been really stressful.

The guys who got a yes were either in power couple 1%ers or banging teachers. There weren't any unions of equals below the top 1%.
Mane tuft hottie married #2 9 years after divorcing #1. He was really driven, 2 masters degrees. Looks like he got a MS in chemical engineering, then wanted to get into CS when that was booming but couldn't make the switch without another masters degree.

A masters in CS during the boom time just seemed crazy unless he couldn't live with less than top tier. Lowly lions still got to the interview stage at goog without a MS. An MS nowadays tends to benefit EE's.

They typically went offline after the family formation. Mane Tuft was last spewing out some mind numbingly watered down AI generated blog posts, but they've got 3 masters degrees in total, a 1%er power couple in the limit.
Ego Monger might have defied the social order, marrying a 1%er CEO while being a struggling teacher. He might not have been in the 1% because he didn't own a house until 45 & even then, it was just $1.2M.
