Not surprising that AI models all discredit government subsidies as the reason for inflation. What is surprising is that no-one questions AI anymore. The invisible paw indeed.
That time of the month again.
Lions before the last rent increase burned $43k/year. $2300/month was rent. $200 was electricity delivery. $1100 was the rest. Healthcare was day job subsidized. Merely getting a measly 5% from investments would be a dream. It's been closer to 2%, for the last 2 years. The 10% of internet fame is fiction. No-one is 100% invested in the thing which is going up 10%.
Put it all in bonds & face a high chance of rates going to 0. Put it all in stronk & you know.

After many months of headlines about the government's reliance on selling short term bonds, the twist was made official, buying long term bonds while selling more short term bonds which the warsh would then monetize by printing.
It's all about the ratio to GDP instead of the trillions now. A different story from 2013, when interest rates were 0, the ratio was 1:1, yet austerity was still the buzzword.

There was a brief time from 2007-2009 when lions were near the top of the industry. From 2001-2019, the software business was generally near the top of every industry, no matter what you were making. That hasn't been true since language models hit paydirt in 2023. It has been noted from income tax & social security brackets that the software business has trended down compared to less impacted industries in the last 4 years.
Bio developers have been really defiant about language models, just like print media workers, 30 years ago. Oh it's just eliminating junior roles or it's increasing other workloads, they said both times. The 1st change was salaries in that industry no longer being competitive. You've no doubt noticed your software income trending down in tax bracket.
