Hiring for us since the AI shift is now strictly in on-site QA testing, product management, & no more language based jobs.

A guy who does nothing but reading case studies finds programming to now be good work if you can get it. The rare paths above $500k get multiple offers paying much more than 2 years ago. Positions from $100-$300k are just about non existent. Manual testing, data labeling below $100k are in demand. It's the same hollowing out as the day job & what we saw in every previous downturn.
Anyone who previously had work delegated to them is basically gone while the delegators have moved up in value. The current lease expires in summer 2027. Lions would be surprised if they were still employed by then. The move would need to happen in June, though there is an expensive monthly lease.
Lions still find the language models hit or miss. It's less certain how long anything is going to take, if a project is going to be faster to express in prose or program directly. It's can be more time consuming to end up in a situation of having to decipher the language model's output than writing it from scratch. It's still safer to have the language model do all development & have animals only review it at surface level. The days of knowing a codebase backwards & forwards are over.
Surprised to find as of June, they reported only 30% of X being AI generated. It's at least 95% generated now. Seeing almost no real world content on X anymore.
Seeing the real world once again requires going outside, as it was before 1995. By 1995, the lucky few with an academic T-1 & a lot of patience could supplant all their real world experience with the internet. Those days are over.

Watching all record that a physical Tesla roadster ever existed get replaced by AI generated art in 12 hours reminded lions that the internet is what it was in the beginning. It's a very small amount of original text, no imagery of the real world, no imagery of what anyone really looks like.
It takes bucks to keep the internet on. After 30 years, they found the only way for the internet to be viable is by not showing the real world. Goog street view is now manely blurred out. It won't be long until all of it is replaced by generated art.

Lion
A rare moment when all the neighboring apartments are vacant or empty during the daytime. Lions could play music as loud as they want, if the speakers were farther away & hearing loss wasn't problematic. The price is a few million lower than the usual price of such an arrangement.
In the old days, volume was limited by needing to hear when the parents were home. It's now limited by hearing loss. What lions can still enjoy is more bass.

Went out fast. Used truly mashed 12mm sandals. Bowel movement at 8.5 miles today. Poundcake for lunch did not end well. 30 minute potty break enabled a sportier return than usual. It was so close to the restroom, retrying walnut would have added only 2 miles.
Had poweraid at 9.5 miles, then plain water after 16 miles. Got warning signs from the pecs at 19.75 miles so went to walk/running. Figured the plain water would do a better job hydrating, since signs were pointing to electrolyte causing dehydration. Had to urinate more than usual. Temperatures at night were finally cold.
There are signs that stretching the hamstrings before the run could be improving results.
After years of taking protein every other day, went back to once weekly, after the hardest effort. It seemed to improve recovery. The cells might become desensitized to it or the lactase might get used up from overdosing.
Recovered fast enough to dial in a 9 minute pace in 2 days, 10 minute pace achieved.
