Latest survey of consumer finances dropped. The top 10% continued shooting upward while the rest stagnated. The top 10% is the inflation of inflation targeting & the bottom 90% is the deflation of inflation targeting.
The demographic under 35, gen Z & all the influencers bragging about getting rich actually lost a lot of ground. 35-44 or millennials gained some ground because they're famously rich & invested. 45-54 or generation X lost some ground because they're famously poor & made hail mary house purchases like mad in 2022. Baby boomers are still living the dream.
35-44/millennials definitely lived up to their reputation as large living rich yuppies between the 2 forsaken ones. They replaced all the 70's ranch houses with frank lloyd wright airbnb's. They repainted the world grey. They started investing at the bottom in 2009 & rode the mountain of printed money up. They became the digital nomads, inflating the cost of living all around the world.
You might say wealth has been transferred from under 35 to over 75, through housing, tuition, taxes.
The top 10% live like the middle class did 70 years ago. They basically own all the houses & have all the sex. The bottom 90% are homeless.
The lion kingdom will never be in the top 10%, no matter what. They knew riches were never going to happen ever since 2nd grade, but it's not possible to get an accurate percentile for a single lion. They just show households. The top 10% includes all the trillion & billionaires too.
Noted a few surveys captured falls over very long time periods, rather than the typical quote of a few months for a bear market. Their net worth kept going down & down long after the index bounced back. The 90's bull market was just a sliver from 1998-2001 while the rest of the 90's were the doldrums.
1989-1998, 2007-2016, 12 years between the 2 falls & 10 years until they either recovered or were replaced. We don't know how many retiretube stars never recovered but were replaced. It's now been another 12 years between falls. When interest rates are going up, the question becomes when are they ever going to fall.
A growing number of stonk market pundits are now promoting instant income from high yield savings accounts, after decades of completely swearing off cash. Given enough rate hikes, they're just all going to bail out of stonks one day. No-one is following their own advice. They just want the biggest return at any given time.
There's a dearth of anyone on the internets who is now sitting pretty from trades they made before the last decline. All we get are the ones who are sitting pretty from trades they made after the last decline.
Noted the big shift from bonds to stonks after 2019, when Dave Ramsey's 100% stonk method went viral. The interest rate problem may not be a monetary policy issue but a supply issue.
As suspected, debt is way down compared to its peak in 2006. The mane subprime borrower is now the government. It could be a long term interest rate problem.
Anyways, screencapped the lion kingdom's brokerage account today, with the stonks at another record high. Lions are going to need all of it. Could be another santa clause rally before another 1st quarter crash. If it really did rally & employment continued, lions could hit bingo this year. It wouldn't last very long without another 4 years of working.
Dave Ramsey once asked by what measure is the stonk market overvalued? Well, by ratio to GDP, ratio to earnings, competition from interest rates, it probably is overvalued now. At 55, lions will barely be clinging to a sustainable bingo point. It would have taken working until 58 to ever build a man cave.
If hitting bingo is the only goal, lions would rotate out of stonks as soon as it happened. If it's not, lions would focus on static asset allocation. A static cash size & floating stonk size would not be the way. There's a chance everyone is going to hit bingo at the same time & get the hell out.

Biddle B back. Back to alternating extremely hard days with extremely easy days. For the paw tendon problems, flat & fast might be more effective than hills. Did that in 12mm sandals.
Repeated the run after another 2 days, in 16mm sandals, for direct comparison. It definitely hurt the posterior tibialis, but nothing was obviously worse or better. Subjectively, it was more difficult.
Just 2x11 milers in a week are all lions get after 50.

In another episode of hotties then & now, Susan Dell has dethroned Anne Ramsey in the now picture.
Everyone is long gone from the internet by 60, but in this case, we are beyond the mere shock factor of seeing someone from beyond the primary demographic showing up on the internets.
Some more ammunition for getting over hotties.
